some one was taking LSD when they came up with that, looks like the trip was over before the car was fully complete so they just merged the 850i with what they had come up with.

There's no engine in that thing. It's an "Homage" to the M1. The second link posted it more along the lines of what I think they'd do.

I'm also not sure they'd call it an M1 since they've already got the 1-series lineup, though they said they don't plan on making an M class 1-series.

never seen an m1 b4 but shouldnt it be based off the new 1 series? if so there is no resmbelance at all!

No. It should be based off the original M1, not some ugly mini-bmw with nasty tails and headlights that are too big.

Nice wheels Spiderman. Not a fan at all of this one. Doesn't really look like a BMW. Only thing that gives it away is the signature grill.

M1 is legendary. 1 series is a low end BMW. The original M1 will probably be the reason there will never be a M version of the 1 series.

Sorry, no matter how much i look at it i will not like most of the features.
Rims need to go, and it definitely needs a re-designed front end instead of looking like the new camaro... even though the camaro is pretty much copied..

I saw this about a week ago, and it's just horrible IMO.

While the front end is "interestingly" styled, i find it is assaulting to my eyes.
Also, from the side, it seems like there are too many surfaces fighting for attention and it just feels like the entire car doesn't really mesh that well.

At this point, it's NOT going to be a production car, and as someone else pointed out, an "Homage" to the original M1 and an exploration as to what a 2009 M1 may look like.

The fact is the rendering is way nicer than the actual BMW they're talking about, so maybe it's BMW who got "punk'd"
