I am planning on getting either a 350 or a g35 but this will be the car I drive all year round. I've had a couple of RWD but never drove them for winter.

How hard is it to drive those beauties in the winter? will good tires be enough?

any input is appreciated. thanks

With any RWD car, get a good set of 4 winter tires. Both of those cars coem with traction control so you should be fine. I've driven my RX8 through 4 winters. I've had only one day where I had problems. (that last big quick dump) and only because the snow was too high.

I actually prefer a RWD car in both summer and winter. Its more fun plus its what I grew up with so its just expected that you do a bit of winter drifting.

Why not get a G35 Sedan with AWD?

sedans are nice but not quite as sick looking as the coupe.

how much would some GOOD tires cost?

One of my buddies drove a 350Z for 2 winters. Good tires and you will be perfectly fine 99% of the time.

For 17 or 18 " winters about a $1000 for tires

I drove my g35 for two winters now with no problems

just go ebay and buy some winters for like 500$ if you have the model with traction control you will be fine. i only spent 280 dollars on my winters and i dont have traction control and i was perfectly fine. just dont drive crazy and be tailgating people.

I drove a 350 for a winter and no real issues. Starting uphill was sometimes a challenge, but I had good winters and like 100lbs of sand in the truck.

I LOVED my G35 in the winter....way more than any FWD. With the 4 blizzaks on there it was like a snow mobile. I have a FWD now again and I know I will miss the RWD.

Stability Control + winter tires= Ultimate control in winter!

350z in the snow no problem, but you will need snow tires (i ran michelin pilot alpins)

ground clearance was my only issue, but that was only tricky in the back alley.

i think you would at least want an enthusiast model since they are the lowest trim level that gets the LSD (the base has open diff and this may make it tricky in the snow to get going)

fuck practical, get a sweet rwd car. There will be many many years for practicality- thats my mantra!!!

ya thats what i'm starting to think. I'll just get the car I want and deal with winter as apposed to letting weather decide the car I get.

Thanks for input

ya man, a good set of winters a couple sand bags in the back and your fine. I plan on getting a 350z next too and i've already had a 240sx and 300zx tt and driven them both through winters with no problems. Just don't drive stupid and you'll be fine

For the number of really bad days we get a year here in AB this is how I would think too. For the 3 or 4 really bad days you can bum a ride, take the bus/train/cab, or just stay home.
