Before I get too far into this, it's not a thread to bitch and moan about poor gas consumption on a truck. If you drive a truck, you're going to burn gas and that's all there is to it.
Now I'm trying to find out a couple of things. Some trucks will have a fuel consumption display on the dash (usually in L / 100 KM).
1) How accurate is yours?
2) What is your vehicle and what do actually get for consumption?
I'll start
I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier 4x4 with the 4.0 L V6. My display reads about 12.5 L / 100 KM in town. My real calculations put it at about 13 L / 100 KM. This is with some nice gentle driving. In the winter if I'm in 4x4 and beating on it, it can go as bad as 17 L / 100 KM.
