Give it a little time....when I was selling my Talon it took a couple weeks before I got any interest at all. Then the interest started to come in, and in total it took just over 5 weeks to sell the car. For me the winner was the Autotrader...which is funny cause it was the first method I used, so people must of been reading old copies of the issues :dunno:

Anyways bump for a sweet ride.

people will pay $6000 for an old rusted out Honda, put in $10,000 to get it up to 140hp, but wont pay $6000 for a 200hp Talon that will run 12s with a couple grand into it. I ask, what has this world come to?

oh yeah, nice car ;) Bump!

APEX that's a Mitsu engine in there, it's just as good as any early nineties or newer Honda/Toyota: Japanese parts, built in America. No surprise there I hope. An advantage is that they aren't prone to rust as much as Hondas are.

Besides, the 4g63 platform has been carried through and is seen today in slight variations in Mitsubishi's new models (ie. Dodge SRT4 has a 4g64 variant and the EVOIII has the bigger reinforced 4g63).

ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL, I am surprised to see how people would pay $40K+ for a Supra TT (or even worse, $40K+ for an NSX) but are anal to spend $20K+ for a Stealth TT with the same performance.

A well built 1G DSM will still have value if well kept.

hey i did'nt think dodge was still co/partners with mitsubishi i guess thats why the new srt4 is the import killer eh but yea as soon as they see oh hear the word domestic car its instantly cheaper it dont matter if its got a jap motor if it was manufacutred in the states is not as good as nissan or honda so yea w/e let em think what they wanna talons kick ass

Try looking on canadatrader for some Talons, and then come back here and tell me I'm selling it for too high.

Buddy you gotta compare apples with apples...the cars that fall in the 2500-5500 range are ESi's not TSi's...there is a big difference there.

'TSI' means the talon is turbocharged. You can get a FWD TSI, there's lots out there, actually I think the Talon for sale IS FWD. :guns:

That's what I use to think as well. Then I went and bought a 93 Talon with 205,xxxkms already on it. The compression checked out fine on all four cylinders, and the car was in pretty good overall condition. I did 14.5 @ 90mph with it a couple weeks ago!:D Not bad for >200,xxxkms.

Go look at the Talons for $3000. Most of them are not Turbo, rusted, dented or have some major mechanical problems. The other Talons on that site that were listed and i would consider looking at are all over the $5000-6000 range. Even then you would be lucky to find one in really good shape. So next time think before you type. It basically has the same engine as the Evo 8. The only diff is the Evo runs 19 PSI with front mount intercooler and supporting mods while the Talon runs 10psi. Put in a frontmount, injectors, fuel pump and turn up the boost and you have the same power. The engine is still the same 4G63. Also you would probably consider an Eclipse an import and a Talon a domestic when they're exactly the same freakin car with different badges.

Is beyond.ca your only method to sell? For my Talon, beyond.ca got a little interest, but in the end it was the Canada Trader that came through.

p3nnywi5dom
09-27-2003, 11:11 PM
Yeah, I have it in the bargain finger right now. I just need to scrape up some money to put it in the auto trader.

Isn't it like $60?

4G63Power
09-28-2003, 02:03 AM
It's around 60 for the medium ad, but there is also one smaller for about 40. It took 5 weeks to sell my car, and I was a little worried at first, cause the first method I used was the Canada Trader. 2 weeks went by and I didn't get a single reply...but then they slowly came in.
