I had my car brake down on me about a month ago in the SW. Fortunate enough it was right by the Petro/Certigard by westbrook mall. I was in no real hurry to have it towed back to my house as i have a second car. Now today i call to get it towed and the tow truck arrives to pick my car up and it's not there... Calgary impound has no record nor does City wide towing(Only towing company for the city). Now my car is a 1990 Acura Integra w/ 390,000+kms and a blown alternator. Why would anyone take this car??? Windshields toast, body is all beat up, there's no exaust, but there are 2 good winter tires w/ 3-4000kms on them. My question is WTF is wrong with people, there is no rhyme nor reason for this. It was my winter car for fuck sakes:guns: :banghead:

Why wait a month?
Bad move on your part,

I agree i was just being lazy. Certigard wanted $450 or so to fix the alternator. At the dealer where i work it would of been $300 with the tow(believe it or not). Ive been kinda strapped for cash for a month or so now and didnt want to fork out $100 for a tow.

Wow even broken down shit gets stolen these days, how stupid.
I'm guessing your probably gonna get a call from CPS saying they found your car dumped somewhere.

i dont think the insurance would give you anything if its as bad as you say.
but still. a stolen car is a stolen car it still sucks.
hope you find out who took it.

I know i probably wont get much for it if its not found. I would be happy with$2-3k (average selling price). It owes me nothing, i bought it 5 years ago for $5k and put 100,000+ kms on it with very little repairs.

you'd probably get more if it's not found than you would if it is found, if it's not found they wouldn't know how shitty it is so they'd give you book value.

I can respect that a month is quite a while, but "serves you right" is a little ridiculous. He's trying to make a point about WHY you'd steal such a POS and yet people are going off basically saying "they have the right to since it was there for so long".

I mean cars shouldn't be stolen in the first place, it shouldn't be a matter of "you deserve it" if it's left somewhere for a month.

As well, I'm sure it's not about the money and more about the inconvenience and stupidity of taking such a broken down car. Probably some dumbass kids who were bored and wanted to go joy ride and beat the hell out of the thing.

My guess would be that a buisness in the area of where you left it, ie. the mall itself, Petro-Canada, etc., called a tow company to take it away, because they felt it was abandoned. Phone the other tow companies in town to see if they have the vehicle on their lots. Chances are you'll get it back, if you want it.

So the car still has not been found to this date. As of monday the insurance car is now the proud owner of a 90 Integra.

The average selling price for a 90' Integra, IMO not too shabby:D

As for the ITB's maybe... Orange wheels first!:bigpimp:
