A couple nights ago there was pretty heavy rain and i was driving my Corolla GTS. the day after the shower i went out to find my car would not start and the trunk was wet, so i boosted my car and it started. now this is happening everytime; i turn off the engine i always have to boost it. also everytime i step on the brake everything cuts out, my clock the radio it all cuts out.
So all i can say its a short circut but anybody have any idea where it could be?

Alternator, most likely. First off, tighten your battery connections. Then go to Canadian Tire or similar and have them test your charging system.

No fan of theirs either. But a free check, and they'll usually get you in.

Should have said, though, that I wouldn't recommend having them do the repair...

Ummmm, any person can use a multimeter. go buy a multimeter for 15$ at canadian tire, set it to DC- ~20, put black on negative, red on positive, should read over 12v, usually around 13.7 when the car is running. If you cant understand the multimeter, start the car, take off the positive terminal, if the car stays running its battery, if it dies almost right away its alternator. Alternator and starter depot should have one for you

Can't load test a battery or charging system with a multimeter, though. You can measure volts, but not amps under load. Might give you a clue, but with a free check available at Canadian tire or a bunch of other shops, might as well take advantage...

You checked the alternator? Because if it's the alternator everything will be fine until your battery dies again...
