Damn, well hey, the guy is one truly talented individual, and although it wll be a loss to the sport, the years of awe he has brought to it is definatly outstanding.

He's a great driver, but he hasn't had a good year. So who will take his place ?? Burns ?? McCrash ?? Sainz ?? Or perhaps an up and coming new driver...

That's too bad. I did enjoy watching him race back in the Mitsubishi dominating days.

Tommy should have retired prior to joining the Subaru team, IMO.

naw, he left mitsu at the perfect time. Didnt you see the titanic like year they had in 2002. big bad mitsu goes down hard. PLus, he won his first race with subaru outright, and in the new impreza.

His days were numbered with an old car and lack of R&D with Mitsu.

With Subaru he got stuck with an R&D car...

Gronholm's consistency issues have had more to do with the car lately than his driving, the peugeots started the year ultra reliable, but have rapidly gone down hill as the season progresses.

I think this was a good time for Tommi to hang up his helmet, ever since that bad accident in Corsica when Timmo Manisenmaki got hurt so badly, he just hasn't had the same fire behind the wheel.

So..... McCrash to Mitsu ?? Nicky Grist mentioned it during the Finland Rally ,but it was denied.I'll guess we'll have to wait and see...

If I were either Sainz or McCrae I'd be REAL worried about my job at the moment, citroen is in the same position as peugeot. I doubt they would drop Loeb which means its one of the 2 big stars thats going to get the axe at that team.

When mitsu comes back, they're gonna have pleanty of choice on drivers. And i hope skoda pics up a competitive driver as well, seeing as they now have a car that should put them up in the standings. (i like to see new faces in the sport, from drivers to teams)
