So Friday morning I'm getting ready to leave and go to brush all the snow off my car, as I went to the back to clear off my plates, I I noticed that my license plate was gone! :banghead:

I know I saw it Wednesday afternoon, but don't clearly remember seeing the back of my car Thursday in the morning, or the evening, so there's a 2 day gap it might have gone missing.

I work in the NE and live in Harvest Hills, but imagine someone picked it up so they could move a stolen vehicle or something not registered/insured.

In any case, the missing plate is EYL 301 and if anyone sees it, it's been reported stolen, but I'm sure the cops would love to know.

To make matters even better, my new plates about half an inch smaller than my old one, so I have some wicked "cuts" into my paint that are showing from where the license plate rubbed through the clear coat. (On 2 bolts on a grand prix to hold it on, so it looks like it rubbed the bottom pretty good)

/end rant

I guarantee they wanted it to steal gas. You might get a call from the cops saying you peaced out without paying for gas.

ya but if the plate doesn't match the car that goes with it then it is a given that it wasn't him.. if your plate gets jacked does that mean you are out of like 50 bucks to get a replacment... that sucks if so..

get some kind of plastic license plate frame from dealership/Can Tire if you want to cover up your "cuts".

Report it stolen from the police, then go to the registries to unregister your name from it and get yourself a new one. If anything arises from it, the police report should cover you. You will be out the $$ for new plates though.

I bought one of those plastic covers from crappy tire and put my plates on top of it instead of behind it to protect the paint.

Already filed the report first thing Friday morning and I went and got a replacement plate with my police file # in hand. $44.00 for a change of address and new plate wasn't too bad though.

Just a pain in the butt to deal with in the first place.

Plate definately wasn't loose and if one of my friends took it, no ones admitted to it and the jokes on them when I find out.
