I was driving to my girlfriends house last night, taking John Laurier Blvd Westbound, and it was shut down between Charleswood and Brisebois. When I got back onto it from Brisebois, all I could see is a bunch of emergency vehicles under the pedestrian bridge, and some civillian vehicles.

Does anyone have any idea what was going on? I can't find anything on citybeat, or any other news station. Police officers were redirecting traffic going both ways. This occured at about 10:45pm.

They were cleaning the road of gravel. It's all fresh and clean now :)

I have a hard time believing that. Why would they need several cop cars, fire trucks and ambulances?

Actually I was driving by on that road a little bit before it turns into McKnight, at like 2AM on Saturday morning. I saw a truck that had smashed through the concrete fence with a lot of emergency vehicles around it...did not look good.

Wasn't really that close to McKnight, it was on John Laurie right after the Brisebois turnoff. Pretty much directly under the pedestrian overpass that goes to the park. I saw it too on Saturday night at around 10:30 or so. By the time I got there the cops had already closed it off and were diverting people down onto Brisebois. I have no idea what happened but I doubt it was something like streetsweeping. There were a lot of emergency vehicles and it looked like there was a big accident.

That's exactly what I'm talking about.
