I just had a question about replacing the car battery. I've had my car for 5 years now and haven't replaced it yet and was just wondering if you guys/gals wait for your battery to die before replacing or do you replace it after a certain amount of time has passed?

If it's still starting your car and holding it's charge don't bother. Is it leaking acid or anything?

yeah its holding charge and not leaking. I was just curious to see if people did preventative battery replacement so they didn't have to deal with a dead battery.

I still got the same battery that came with my 2000gtx/galant from 1992. all it has ever need was to top up the electrolytic water levels inside with distilled water. started up all winter long.

They test em for free at most auto parts places.

I always buy a new one every 5 years, gives me a better piece of mind and buying from Canadian Tire with the 3 year extended warranty helps

Should I wait for my tampax to smell before changing it or should I change it after a set period of time? Just wondering so I don't have to deal with a bloody pad.
