I have a 1998 honda civic SI.

I had the wipers going today in the rain, but I turned the wipers off and they keep going. They are running in slow mode, but when I turn the switch to fast, they do speed up.

They turn off when I shut off the car. I pulled the fuse and it looks fine.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Regards,
{Pacman

Sounds like a couple contacts have fused together, either in the relay or the switch itself....

Would this be a "do it yourself" type repair??

It might be if you are mechanically-inclined. You'd have to check for continuous current to the contacts in the relay/switch when the switch is in the "OFF" position. If that turns out to be the prob, then it's just a matter of R & R the relay/wiper combo switch....

I also have a 98 Civic EX and My wipers will speed up, but wipers will not turn off unless the engine is off. I replaced the switch...did not help. Anyone know where I can find an electrical diagram? I have no idea where the relay is for the wipers in this car.
