Does anyone on here own a Honda CRV? I have a chance to pick up a 97 with 210k for $2300 . It needs about $600-800 worth of work. It is AWD, any common problems with these models?

2300 is a good price, but what kind of work are we talking about here?

not everyone in the world looks to buy a car for speed.
Given the price and the work needed, that's a great price.

^ Indeed it is, I'm just stating what I know from experience. I'm not doubting its a good deal, as it most certainly is, I'm just offering some advice based on what I've experienced.
"Speed" is one thing, inadequet power is another. :dunno:

If it's the type of vehicle you are looking for, grab it up. If after a couple of months you don't like it, you will not have any problems selling it for what you have into it.

My wife has a 2003 with about 85,000 km now and it's been nothing but regular maintenance.

There are other cars out there with less power. Yet they are fine for driving around the city. Why pass up a good deal (if it's the type of vehicle that you want) just because is "slow".
