Love the new site. Much more interest on that homepage. You didn't tell us there was going to be an overhaul did you Rage?

Seriously though, something needs to be done about the sidebar because it cuts off the text and leaves a white space. Otherwise I think it's a great refresh, and using WP for a CMS should help beyond's rankings in the SERPs.

haha it's version 0.1 beta LOL. We had the recent posts on the side but the CPU hit is too high (and it took 3.5 secs to open the page). We'll be optimizing the code in the next few days. Keep the feedback coming!

I have to say I love the new gallery, the pictures load crazy fast and scrolling with the mouse wheel scrolls through the pictures, great feature, I like the attention to detail. :thumbsup:

Honest opinion?

I think the layout is ok, but some tweaking to make things smaller wouldn't hurt. It's large - even on my 21" monitor.

I see no reason to put full articles at the bottom. They can go along the left with the other articles. (Which take up more space than they need to. The images and text can be nearly half the size on those automotive news articles.

Maybe one large article on the main page which is of importance to everyone. Ie: The phone area code graphic. Then you can click to get to the article as well.

I think overall it requires too much scrolling, but is for sure a step in the right direction. I love the new content. I just think if you guys can reduce everything the eye has to absorb, it will come across as much cleaner. Then it will not be as cluttered, and the individual areas (new posts, etc) will stand out better.

lol the html is horrible. missing closing </a> tags, <li>'s, <ul>'s, duplicate div id's, etc. maybe that's why you are having issues? :)

Looks pretty good. I do feel a little lost thought. I Agree with the too much scrolling like said above. I think the recent forums should be a little higher on the left, seeing how thats probably the most used spot. And i do miss the user cp thing there with our pms.

What don't you understand about this being the Automotive Enthusiast Blog..? Obviously down at the bottom is where the BLOG entries are located. Articles on the left are in fact articles. Besides, if you didn't read this is just a version they put up, it'll be updated and modified as needed.

I really like how different it is to have a blog on the main homepage now. Whoever writes it, really gets it. I think the new main page needs to be tweaked to resemble to "old" main homepage, though. Ie, last posts, PM. But have the blog posts right at the top updated daily/weekly. We don't want to look at a birthday cake all summer.

I don't know if this is mentioned yet (sorry, too lazy to read through the 3 pages since I last posted in ehre), but I noticed that when you click on a thread from the most recently posted ones on the main page, it opens up a new window.

My preference would be to have it go directly to the page in the same window, or open in a new tab.

I'm not a fan of the forum pages opening up in a new window. As well, the recent forum discussions is too far down the page.
