These are the online sellers of Koyo Radiators I found while googling. There are many more, but these are the ones who actually indicate that they carry something for my car.

Given these choices, who would you buy from?

The application is CD9A/CE9A Evo 1,2,3. If you have a better suggestion where to purchase a Koyo rad, who would you purchase it from?

The story is that when I got my car, I cracked the 15 year old plastic radiator. I then replaced it with some Chinese copy I bought from HongKong. Let's just say the welds are subpar and I'll never waste money on something like that again. Ever.

Japanese Koyo or bust....

The Chinese one, was it ASI?

Yes.

Did it fail you too?

Nope, mine works great. Everyone who's seen it has been impressed with the worksmanship. I have searched all over the net for reviews (before I bought it, obviously) and all the reviews I found, from AUS/NZ/UK, were positive. You would be the first person I have heard of that has had a bad experience with them. :dunno:

FWIW ASI has a sales office in Calgary now, the rad I paid $300 + shipping for I could now pick up in town for $240, and probably return if I have a problem. I wish I had waited.

I asked because I was going to recommend them (esp. since you can pick it up right here in town now) if you didn't already have one. Sorry about the hard luck.

Yeah that's the thing...

Maybe mine was a rare case? All the reviews in AUS and NZ were great, so i thought I'd give them a shot.

Also, may I ask where they are located and or how the Calgary office can be contacted?

my phone number is (403)400-0896. If you have any question. just give me a call. Thanks Nicole

I haven't called them, I was going to get some rad hoses but figured out I actually needed a heater hose and not the ones they sell.

Thanks.

Even with no outright warranty replacement, at least I could inquire directly seeing as they are actually right HERE.

Eh, good luck with that. I think the people here are just distributors/resellers, so I doubt they will give you a replacement if you didn't buy from them to begin with, but it can't hurt to try I guess.

Oh, I'm still curious to know from anyone else who might know or have had previous experience buying rad online:

Should I choose to go Koyo route, which of those online vendors would you trust? The ebay guy is cheapest... but like my ASI experiences, they seem to fly by night, and next thing you know no one is there to honor your 1 year warranty.

Bumping this because I'm curious to hear if you had any results contacting the seller.

Also, can you post a pic of where the rad is leaking? Since I have the same rad as you I'd like to know what to look out for.
