Hey guys.

I have a simple question.
I am kind of a noob so I can not help myself. lol
Anyhow, the question is...

I am looking to buy a 300zx 5 speed RHD in pearl white colour. I am planning to buy a gun metal coloured 300zx.

The paint job is going to cost me $2500-3000 for sure. From gun metal to pearl white.....

Now would it be cheaper to buy a 300zx which is already white and automatic trans. and install a 5 speed trans in it?

I can not find any white manual RHD 300zx;s.... in case your wondering.....

So... long story short...

How much does the conversion cost from auto trans to manual trans.... ??

If you can't find one that has everything you want, try to find one that has at least one of those things, like a black 5spd or a pearl white auto, etc, etc.... If anything, I would try to find a 5spd one and paint it pearl white.

repaint is easier then a tranny swap and less hassle

I'd go with the proper color and then do a tranny swap.

Badly done paint work can peel, chip, etc.
Could be done cheaply, or expensive.

A tranny swap would require a few holes drilled in for the clutch and oem parts. Cost is maybe $2000 parts included.
$500 for tranny, $1000 for oem bits, $500 labor.
It's just a guess. Or do it yourself and save labor.

Engine would be less beaten up than manual, assuming
that the auto doesn't get raced as much.

It's up to you, I'm partial to the swap.

The manual conversion is gonna take alot of parts and work that if you have a general idea to do then its worth it but if you don't know much about it then paint job seems easier as you just drop it off a paint shop and they take care of it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I think I am just going to buy the one with the standard tranny.
Then do a paint job on it later. Because a tranny swap can be complicated and a hassle like u guys said.
A paint job may cost more, but its easier to do etc.
