On the outside it looks like an updated Peugeot 308.

It's alot like the STI in that it looks good until you see the rear of the car where it looks like a ho-hum economy hatchback. I just can't get into the mini-van/station wagon look on a sporty car.

The Scirocco now looks like a Mazda 3, Saturn Astra, Honda Civic... I would have liked to see he basic shape of the old Scirocco.

(I saw a loaded silver Astra 2-door the other day, looks pretty good).

No, it would be around the same price here, maybe a little more say 45.

I could be wrong, but since Europe is using the Euro then

40,000 Euro x 1.5613 = 62,451.98 CAD

plus fees and freight and extras, so 70k would be around right?

car prices from europe to north america are not based on conversion of currency though. So it would maybe be 1.25-1.35 timex depending on how many they would want to sell here.

When I was in the Phaeton VW factory in Germany they had one of these on display in the basement and it said starting price was 31k Euros.

That's like saying "The S2K is $32K in the states so times that by 1.1 and that's the price in Canada."
 you wish!!!

Euro prices are usually comparitive to US prices. So you pay alot more in europe after cnoverint USD to euro opposed to the cars being proportional to currency as stated above^^
now i need to find one of these well price us vehicles:banghead:

Pricing is wrong. WTH do I want FWD with weak ass 2.0T for north of $40K when 135i is right in there and more competent.
