jdm brake change, silvia

hey guys i have a 1990 nissan silvia, s13 and it needs new front brakes, does anyone know what brakes i need, and does anyone now where there is a good trustworthy shop to bring my jdm?

The only thing you need to worry about getting for your brakes are reverse polarity pads so they work with your master cylinder since it's mounted on the opposite side of the car. No big deal and any mechanic can deal with it.

crappy answer: make sure that the mechanic working on it is a left handed one, since most guys that work on LHD are right handed...

better answer: do some online research to find out if the brakes are the same as a normal 240SX here of the same gen... then once you have all the parts, any place should be able to take care of it... brakes are the same no matter what it is, LHD or RHD...

ok i think these idiots dont realize that the brakes on a JDM S13 are COMPLETELY different than on a USDM S13 and are NOT interchangeable. I think you want pads from an early 90's altima? At least I'm pretty sure the rotors from an altima will work.. You might be better off asking in the 240 forum.

I think the problem here is to ask only if the brakes are the same as a 240 but leave it at that. Please avoid the "where do I bring my JDM car" questions to avoid the flameage.

I'm in the hunt for brake's for my Silvia aswell...

One guy mentioned to look for the 240 with hicas and ABS and those brake's should work but don't quote me on that, it's just what the guy said!!!

like i said in my post earlier... I did not say that it was the same as a 240, I said to do the research to see if they were...

Well first of all I would like to point out the lack of the use of the word 'all' before the words 'these idiots'. Your 'better answer' was perfectly fine. What I was getting on about was that the brakes arent the same, and anyone who didnt know that would think the OP was just another 'where can i get my rhd key cut' dumbass.
