I just came back from salt lake city. The prices of SUV's have dropped by far in the USA. I strongly recommend buying from the USA as people in canada are on crack.

I ended up buying 2004 Nissan Pathfinder $6219.85 all in!!
This is not including RIV or duty from customs...Which was still way worth it.

Top model, and 2 years warranty good for north america which is good in canada. 74000miles!!!!!

Don't buy up here...Look at the prices down there!!!

Have a good one.

I call. royal flush.

This is kind of old news as there was a huge rush of imports when the dollar was much higher... guess it's just as good now as the americans are dumping their gas guzzling suvs.

Ha man, that sounds like an awesome deal. So that's just the dealer off the main highway with couple of cars and trucks, and I believe they got a some mechanic bays too.

That's an awesome price.

I think we'll start seeing some awesome deals in the USA thanks to their economy combined with the price of gas.

Especially from those who bought their gas hungry SUV's using a 5yr 0% financing option. :)

You think that's stupid... try going to Alabama, or Louisiana

Leasing rims isn't a bad idea really, I mean how many people buy rims like shoes? Lots want a new set every 6 months.

I'd be careful buying ex Utah. Many damaged/repaired vehicles trucked out of California are sold in Utah. Something about not having to disclose accident/repairs. I found that out when I was looking for my V. Seemed like a lot of really good deals so I checked it out.

I noticed that too, you can tell by the low prices though in Utah. I found a mint looking 06 STI for $22k but it was a salvage. I tend to limit myself to looking in CA and TX.

what about places like oregon, washington or montana? they're not as far as california or texas so it'll be easier to get there. are there cars from there ok?

Cars in the Northern States seem to be more expensive... (I think because they are closer to the border) Also selection seems to be limited compared to Southern States.
I drove through Montana looking for "deals" and found 1 in an entire day.

I can go on my auction sites and find 1000 steals right now in Cali/Texas/Philly/Ney York.

Also remember about sales tax, the ones I have found sofar that are exempt from state sales tax are Nevada, Washington, Texas, Utah. If anyone could chime in on some other states also.

benyl

Illinois is also exempt if you live in Iowa.

Don't have to worry about sales tax if you are taking it out of the country.
Yeah, I figure I saved about $20,000 bringing my car in. Plus it was a great road trip!

You do in some states, I know california you do. It goes state by state, and most have forms that exempt you from it if you dont title it in said state.

In cali its only if you drive it off the lot, if you get it shipped to the border then you don't pay anything. This is firsthand info I got from a dealer there while looking for a 350z

The foreclosure market is really driving car sales and prices down right now in the US.

The US has always had awesome deals. Picked up a RAV4 new in 04 on a 3yr 0% with no-penalty pre-payment option. Had the whole thing paid off in 2.5 yrs without paying a dime in interest.

Are newer auction cars still warranty eligible? Would you be able to purchase some "steals" for general public for a fee or something...lets say in NY/Philly?
