Going to a client/consultant golf tournement tomorrow and I've never been really.... is it "ok" to wear shorts or will I look like a goof?

edit: its at a very nice golf course/club

Should be okay if the shorts are khaki. Make sure your shirt has a collar, and the shorts are not too short....lol

Khaki shorts and a collar shirt and you're good to go!

depends where you are going? make sure that your shorts dont have cargo pockets as some courses are only allowing "golf shorts" ie. dressier shorts, no cargo pockets dont go below the knee.

You can wear flip flops/sandals. I wear them all the time at the Elks, and usually they are pretty up tight with their dress codes.

Just wear some sort of khaki pants/shorts, and a collared shirt, and tuck in your shirt, looks classier. :D

Now read up on the classy way to throw your club in a fit of anger and you should be set.

it totally depends on where you are golfing. I have been to many courses that don't even allow the golf sandals.

Just get your butt down to a Golf store and spent a few bucks...

You shouldn't wear shorts to short, no cargo pockets, no graphics on shirts....you know like an iron maiden shirt. No sleeveless shirts.

Costco has some really nice black haggar shorts and they have polo style shirts, you can walk outta there for about $40.00

I wear shorts all the time. Lulu Lemon and Nike make awesome outdoor shorts in black or khaki. I hate dressing up for golf, but that's okay to wear if you hate dressing like a douche yet not look too casual. Here was my exact set-up recently, just to give you an idea that yes, you can dress down a bit, but not too much.
