The 12" G3 iBook (M9018LL/A (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP100)):
900MHz PowerPC G3
384MB RAM
40GB HDD
Airport Card

Comes with:
- original box, software and accessories
- WaterField SleeveCase (http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm) (horizontal bag, no flap - really nice bag!)

The good:
The laptop itself is in good condition. Not a lot of scratches or dings on it and is very clean. The screen is bright and has no dead pixels.

The bad:
This laptop has the logic board problem, so sometime it works and sometimes it doesn't. Rather than get replacement parts, my sister opted to just get a new Macbook. I *think* the combo drive may need replacing, but she says it works fine because she was watching DVDs with it -- could be related to the logic board, but FYI. Not sure how well the battery life is.

Because of all this, this could be either a good fixer-upper or a parts laptop. I still need to take it apart and format the harddrive (I can't get it to format normally because of the flaky logic board), but if someone is interested in this and wants it left apart to save some work, let me know. I've seen replacement logic boards go on ebay for ~$100 a few times, so it shouldn't cost too much to get this back up in running shape. Or if you need parts for your own iBook, you could probably take them from this and eBay the rest and get your money back or even make a bit off of it. You could sell the Airport Card for $50 on its own.

Instructions on how to take it apart (and put it together) can be found here:

$100 AS IS.

The 12" G4 iBook (M9426LL/A (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP81)):
1.07GHz PowerPC G4
768MB RAM
100GB HDD
Dual Layer DVD burner
Airport Extreme Card

Comes:
- original box, software and accessories
- WaterField SleeveCase (http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm) (vertical bag with flap - really nice bag!)
- Mac mouse
- 2 batteries (both with good charges)
- original combo drive

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this laptop, but I decided to upgrade to something faster for editing photos when I'm away from my home computer. I've been using it almost daily for the past few years since purchasing it and it's still going strong. The iBook is awesome for traveling because it's so small and compact (it goes traveling with me). The display is nice and bright and has no dead pixels. I'm not desperate to sell since I just put in $200 worth of upgrades four months ago.

The original harddrive failed on me back in February, so I upgraded it to a Seagate 100GB HDD (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX16870(ME).aspx). Since I had to take the laptop apart anyways, I also upgraded to a 8X DVD±R/RW drive (http://www.mcetech.com/ibg4dvdr8dl.html). I don't think the Superdrive's offered at the time even did dual layer (Superdrive's weren't even available on the 12" models), but this one does now. The original combo drive also comes included.

I have two good working batteries with this laptop. My laptop qualified for the battery recall a few years back so Apple sent me a new battery. Since the original one never had any issues, I kept that as well. Both get about 3 hours worth of charge on regular usage, including wireless.

There's no scratches on the laptop, as I put 3M on it top and bottom. If someone wants iBook, I can remove the 3M as it's starting to discolour and looks kinda ghetto.

I'll also put in a fresh install of Leopard (but cannot supply a copy of the disk).

SOLD!

If you're interested in either of these, you'll have to come see me in the NE. No trades. Lowballers will be ignored.

Hey man, those original airport cards can fetch more than $100 on their own on eBay or ehmac. The G3 is probably worth more to you parted out than your asking price.

I'm hoping to sell it locally, but if there's no interest, I may just ebay the G3.

Anyways, all PMs on the G4 have been replied to. There's a few nibbles, but no one's committed yet. Here are some pics:

3M covering is peeling and discoloured, but will be removed and cleaned up before the iBook is sold.

Box for the Airport Extreme card, the original DVD/CD drive, software and manuals, the mouse (which wasn't originally included during the purchase), and the spare battery. I forgot to photograph the charger and the monitor adapter, but they will also come included with the laptop.

Since some people have been asking, yes I am firm on the price with everything that's included on the G4, however if you are looking for a cheaper deal, I am willing to lower the price but I'll have to take things out of the package (ie: put back the original DVD/CD drive, keep the spare battery, keep the mouse, etc...).
