Saw it cruising by Chinook on saturday night, just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about it. Mods? Conversion or imported?

That car was imported, it is not a conversion. To my knowledge it has the basic bolt on stuff, still running stock turbo. I have not seen the car in person however so I could be wrong. The owner hangs out in the www.rx7club.com/forum a bit but I'm not sure he posts here at all.

Yeah I see him... he either lives up in patterson or springbank or something.

He had a stupid purple neon licence-plate thingy that he seems to have taken off. I saw some big tach, oldschool enkeis or likewise knockoffs, and some kind of aftermarket exhaust.

Yeah the licence plate frame was kinda G-H-E-Y.....From a far the car looks pretty good though, he has the same rims as my car, yes old school Enkeis, but mine are 17's, I think his are 16's or maybe even 15's, but that style of rim is nice on the FC...
I think because of typical bureaucratic nightmarish rules, it ended up costing him like 11k instead of 8k to get it here, if memory serves correct...
I am kinda suprised he bought one that was so stock, on the used car pages from Japan their are pleny of FC's with TD06 and T04R conversions for the same money pushing well over 350 rwhp...Maxt

if you got a cosmo tri rotor 20b put in an rx7, would you be able to bolt your tranny to it? i thought cosmos only came in automatic..

Yes given the right counterwieghts and a decent flywheel, all Mazda rotaries share the same bell pattern..maxt

I was really out to lunch on this post.... this post was pointed out to me almost a year after the fact. So my reply is probably pretty pointless but I thought I would anyways.

The car actually cost me pretty much the same as the ones over here it just took a bit more time to get over here..

I imported it because I always liked the FC3S and rotory engines why I imported the FC3S as pretty much a stock vehicle is because I knew what I wanted to do with it..

It is more a hobby car and I wanted to start from the ground up.

Yep earlier it had the stock turbo.. it is being replaced by a TO4E turbo that I purchased.. unfortunately it is not in yet.... I am working on a student budget..

Also... I know the neon frame was pretty G H E Y it was given as a present... since then it has been taken off since I got a ticket for it haha. =)

The car is in bits and peices now... it is being completely rebuilt... hopefully I will be done when summer comes around..

Here is a pic of where it is at now. I am fitting the front fender

another small pic.. unfortunately the hp right now is quite low without the new turbo it is estimated at the 250-280 range.... the clutch was beginning to go so I needed a new one.... its out of comission till I get a new one... out of commission till then.. =P

(the clamps are so awsome har har.. ) I am a lot farther along than in the pics but I do not have any new ones..

I saw 2 in Calgary. Caught me off guard when it started to spew diesel exhaust and with only a passenger and no one driving :)

Those 4-door trucks are Toyota Hilux's, they are built around the same chassis as the Four-runner (Hilux Surf). They don't drive Ford or Chev trucks in Afghanistan, they drive Toyota Hilux's.
