my friend looked at trading his 2001 1.8T jetta in and they wanted to give him 14,500 for it !

Every car depreciates...just imports are not as bad it's all what someone is willing to buy a car for, not a price on a piece of paper. Trade in value is how much a car dealer will give you for it...just basically guaranteed sale and you never want to take that since the open market will give you more $$$, just more time and effort is needed (and to avoid Beyond lowballers, lol:))

If you think an RSX-S is bad, ask what the value of a Neon, Focus or a domestic car is after a year.

ya dude, for get "trade in" value...I went to a dealer to trade in my dads pathfinder..they were gonna give me $2300...i sold it a week later for 7k...best way to check...find out what market price is...I would say between 27-28?
