hahaha.. .I'm glad that (now deleted) post made its rounds.
his number is 590-9664 or 703-1869
He does good quality work, at about 1/3 the price of what a reputable body shop would charge. He does the body work out of his garage, and paints the vehicles at a rented professional quality painting booth. He's done work on several show cars of mine over the years, and time and time again I've been extremely pleased with his results.

Me too. PM me if you are good with body work/paint (minor damage to bumper and fender).

lol he's no where near concours quality. A couple members posted their paint jobs and they are okay at best.

He does decent paint jobs at a fair price. As long as you know you're getting a backalley paint job, you'll be fine using Lee. Don't expect anything close to bodyshop quality.

Car looks great, but theres no way to see how good a job is unless you can get up close. Here's an example of a rather poor job he also did. You can see the orange peel and drips quite easily up close (sorry to the owner of the vehicle posted, this in no way is an attack on you or your vehicle).

:werd: There are so many things pictures can hide, but I can bet that if I took a look up close I could pick out over 100 things wrong with it.

Also what kind of materials does he use?

doesnt look like that painter wetsanded the paint between coats and wetsanded the clear coat.

I dont have too many more pics, as I sold this lemon a few years ago, but in all reality, the whole car looked like this, even upon very close inspection. But sure, go ahead and say "nay" then if you want, knock yourself out:)

you dont have to wetsand between each coats, you wetsand after your final clear coat...

you only have to wetsand your basecoat if there overspray and orange peel and shit like that

...but there might have been orange peel after the base coat. After the fact you cant really fix what is under the clear. I think it isn't nice to have tons of orange peel, but now a days...cars have heavy orange peel anyways. It really depends on what kind of car you have and how often you show it off.

My 08 Accord has heavy orange peel, but since I am working on a pretty thin clear coat, I don't think I'll sand it. Sure it will look good when it is done, but right now I am satisfied with how it looks.

You can't really see it, but if it was under halogens you would be able to see the orange peel. I will try to grab pics later, but almost all cars have orange peel. It is just kind of a fact of life unless you drive a show car, or a really good repaint, it might not be worth the risk to take down the clear.

lee did a car for me... nice guy and all but my expectations (wich where low) were not met with his quality of work (ie: orange peel, overspray, bad masking, forgot to fix 1 dent, car's interior was left incredibly dirty and dusty, not to mention the waiting list :thumbsdow) at least i was able to bring his quoted price down a bit, but it was a hard task with this guy haha

I wouldn't mind getting my sideskirts repainted if he's charging 1/3 of the price... For those who got work done by Lee. Any guesses on how long the waiting list is, and how much 2 skirts will cost?
