Hey Guys, I know it's short notice, but BreMorr and myself are putting on a track day on June 17th. This is a full roadcourse lapping day. Starts at 8am and goes till 4PM, TONS AND TONS OF TRACKTIME!!

Price will be $200, or possibly slightly less if we can get a few more guys.

We need another five or six people to make it to the $200 mark, so first come 1st served! :)

Remember that this is strictly a lapping day and is not a race!!! Passing will be done on the straights only.. no dive bomb braking passes haha

We should be able to run 1 session, open track all day. if we get some more numbers we'll go to a 2 group format 30 min on, 30 min off.

PM me if you have any questions, or call Brent or Kevin at 250-8630 (days) if you want to sign up!

We have a couple of spots left. This track day is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you just don't know it yet!??.....All you need is,

1. To be cool....cool like a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce.
2. A sound automobile with good brakes and rubber.
3. Helmet, we sell them if you need one.
4. Pants and shoes, not shorts and flip flops.
5. $200
6. A phone, to call Kevin or Brent.

250-8630

Cool? LOL -- I wish, but I don't think that can apply to me any more. Still going though -- and hope to put down some decent runs.

I asked about convertibles (i.e. my S2000) and got the thumbs up. So at least one car will be on the track (hint -- it's a yellow one) :)

I'm 98% sure cars and bikes are not allowed on the track at the same time, so it must be for cars only then.

Kevin, I should be able to make it. Should have the Fodera/Brembos on by then.:D

Are you running the Z4? If so, that should be a good match for my S2000 (at least by SCCA classification).

Everyone else,

The day is for cars only...sorry guys, there are lots of bike days that we can hit, not so many car days!!!

Josh works in the Recieving department, in the back of the store. He has his own office, but it's buried in the deep bowels of the parts department... He can also be found loitering in the parking lot smoking haha

Would love to get in on this. Would be totally worth the vacation day.

Unfortunately the last track day is what has my car still parked requiring a complete brake job - an upgrade I've learned. :D

Anyone who hasn't done these, it's kid at christmas good times I assure you. My last day cost me $3000 after parts and the school cost, and the tow home. :) And I'd do it again in a second.

-a helmet
-A camera if you want
-Cooler w/ ice, water, gatorade, and at least 1 beer for after
-Some minor tools just in case
-A liter of oil, and maybe some antifreeze
-Some lawn chairs
-Maybe a pit tent if you have one..

Oh man I'm pumped! :burnout:

I wont be able to make it since the pads on there currently are just paper thin... to try to pull off a track day with the brakes in this shape is just retarded. I should be there to spectate though. I'll bring my helmet (size large) for anybody that needs it when I get there at 2:30ish.

All you beyond pussies that bitched out... :thumbsdow

What an awesome day. Thanks kevie88! With only 15-18 cars, and pretty much only 6 cars on track at one time on a full open day, I got in a ridiculous amount of balls out hotlaps. I think everyone had the same experience. Too bad the bus stop was setup, otherwise I'd be able to get some laptimes.

Oh ya... the GTI absolutely rocks! I can not believe how well it handles for a FF car. It ate up all the corners with ease, even able to go all out over the curbs in the chicane. No understeer, I'm powering out in 2nd from turn 3 at 80% throttle and it just lays the power down. to VW for such an awesome suspension setup, went in with low expectations for a FF car, came out cornering as hard, if not harder than the FR cars there today. Sucked back quite a bit of gas... went thru 1st tank of gas 2/3 into the morning, took it a bit easier in the afternoon and ran out of the 2nd tank by 3:10. And that DSG tranny... holy shit, it's seriously designed for the track! It works soooooo well. The future of transmissions! I can even shift mid corner without feeling it... never had to drive around the "gears" like in MT cars.

Here's some pics from my cam. Drove and rode most of the day, so didn't get much.

Bugs. Lots of guts too from rolling over gophers:

Fuel consumption for today LOL. I usually average 9.2L/100km. I had it up to about 33L/100km but driving to the gas station helped a bit haha.

So did kevie88! Race City must be littered with center caps.

Thanks to rage2 and theVicar for the pointers today, it helped me big time. They have some sick driving skills! The GTI performance was impressive - I take back all the bad stuff I've ever said about VW.

I had fun driving, but probably even more fun riding passenger - I learned some good lines riding with murray peterson and bremorr too.

Here are a couple of shots I snapped. They're quite far away because my camera finger is just too slow.

It was a great success thanks to all the great people that made it out today.

Murray Peterson
06-17-2008, 06:34 PM
And lest I seem ungrateful -- awesome day! Thanks to kevin and Brent for putting this together. Expensive, but fun. And to add to the so-called normal expenses, I think I have a warped rotor too :(

What an awesome day. I can't say enough.. everyone was awesome, great bunch of guys to spend the day with.

I had a ton of fun out there, I think I might need a set of right side tires, and my car just reaks of brakes.. but i couldn't be happier.

I think my next mod has to be swaybars, the STI plows so hard into corners. I completely roasted the right front, moved it to the rear and then roasted it even further. I wonder if the tire pressures were too high, I think I was running 36 psi cold.

Man oh man did we kill a lot of gophers. There was a whole family running around in turn three first thing in the morning, and by noon there was none. Man there was a lot of guts on my rims! haha I think the best image of the carnage was blazing out of the bus stop, watching a magpie pick up the back half of a gopher and try and take off with it, and seeing it drop it on the backstraight up the hill.. so gross :D

I brought my camera out but took almost no pics so I'd love to see more pics!

I think I may have the worst mileage of the day award, 105 liters of premium to 240 kilometers.. damn

Hey Guys,

I myself spent most of my time there either chatting with different members or in car, not taking photos.
I did take an in-car video of the M5 which I have to host, and then I will post it.

PS: Not sure of gas mileage but the M5 burned about 5/8 of a tank in maybe 20-25 laps.

Anyways, enjoy the few photos I did take.

Soon, very soon. My brother has been far too busy "banging bitches" to get me the pics and video. If you know how to host the video let me know, my brother doesn't want to do it and I don't know how. He claims that I will have the pics by thursday.
