We got this in at work the other day...

its on loan from GM, the serial # is 21 so there is obviously a few of them floating around.

This one is brand new, still had the plastic on everything when it came in and all the little accessories (side skirts, mudflaps, wheel caps etc) were still wrapped up and inside the car...

Enough talk.... pics!

Magnificent minus the rims. They come off as slightly tacky. But wow...what a machine. Loving the front lip as well.

Those wheels remind me of the sort of chrome that comes in those model car kits - the stuff made of plastic. :barf:

Would look so much better with gunmetal rims on it. Cool car otherwise.

Agreed - those wheels are brutal.

How wide are the fronts, anyway? They look wider than the rears on my car!

Agreed with everyone on the wheels. Use less tacky ones, chrome rims belong on SUVs!

Sweet! What dealership is this I wouldn't mind coming to take a look at it in person.

The wheels look fine. Its all the blue in the engine bay and blue calipers that doesn't look right. I know its the blue devil and everything but still. You'd think it wouldn't be that big of a deal for them to match the body color to those parts. But I guess so :dunno:

Regardless :bigpimp:

WOW, that car is sweet... I even love it in yellow... Maybe that's just because I love yellow though:)
I was at Barrett Jackson when the #1 blue one sold... that was a pretty sweet car up in person

SWEET... good thing the wheels look better in the showroom. They're probably just an option that they want to show on display, I'm sure there are other factory wheel options you can choose. This is one car I wouldn't get in yellow though.

climer
06-12-2008, 10:46 AM
That's definitely a sweet car but there's no way I'm paying $150,000 or so for that.

I just can't get over the body coloured headlights with the black ring - something that my eyes go to everytime I see a corvette - and especially in yellow. Give me a black car and I'm sure it would look awesome - the yellow just kills it for me.

climer
06-12-2008, 11:59 AM
Yeah, I've never warmed up to the headlights on the C6.

I've seen pictures of the ZR1 in black and it looks great but they really need to do something about those wheels. For that price, I would've liked to have seen some magnesium wheels like they did with the C5.

nbaker00
06-12-2008, 12:08 PM
I don't get everyone being against those wheels lol.
I like them alot better then the wheels on the Z06 or just a regular C6 Vette.:dunno:

yea some ugly rims. And if the car is a light color then you have to go with black rims. Will look sick.
Not digging the headlights or that interior either. If you look at the interior of some Benz's, they put that to shame.

ZorroAMG

Gorgeous exterior...It'll be awesome when they finally make a decent interior to ALMOST match the exterior in quality/design/feel.

A Benz? My old 1990 Accord puts that interior to shame.

Ok... maybe not but I'd still take the interior of a car like an Acura TSX over the ZR-1.

I mean, take a look at the following pic from a Caravaggio C6 Z06 :

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/3343/newcamera001gi7.jpg

That's what I'd expect from a $150,000+ car.

iceburns288
06-13-2008, 10:59 AM
That's not just any Caravaggio Z06. It is John Caravaggio's personal Z06.

Besides, this car is using components normally found on cars that cost $400kUS+. Plenty of carbon fibre, that hella expensive carbon clearcoat, Le Mans heritage, etc. The REAR brakes on that car are from the FRONT of the Enzo! They are Veyron brakes. If the interior was made up to the spec of the rest of the car, it would also cost $400k. I consider this car to be a bargain!:D

Blue calipers, chrome rims, yellow body, black top. :barf:

the exact same brakes as a ferrari (I forget the model)

retail...well don't think it will exist, the prices will be driven up because of the limited production but I would estimate it will be going for around 150k or more

The rims suck z06 rims are better. The black roof sucks. Interior sucks. I'm not digging the plexiglass engine window either.

Otherwise... THAT CAR IS REDICULARS!

MSRP?

I cant believe you guys are bitching about the interior. If you want a nice interior, go buy a living room set. This car is all about the performance. The most powerful car GM has ever made. Wait for pricing, then decide on it. Its going to smoke 90% of the cars you can buy.

ZorroAMG
06-15-2008, 10:12 AM
Says the SAAB/GM owner. Every other high performance car HAS a nice interior, stop defending the fact that the Corvette designers can't get their heads out of their asses.

89s1
06-18-2008, 11:23 PM
dont like the plastic interior, or the rims, and not really loving the engine window, as all you see is a gray plastic engine cover *twirls finger* its all been said, the rest is great.

I'd still drive it, wouldn't need to twist my arm very much, but it screams domestic supercar.

at least someone gets what this car is about, its made for the track...not so you can go cruisin around showin everyone what a nice interior you have, this is about bargain performance not bargain luxury and performance

Is it that hard to implement a nicer interior though? Come on man...just use slightly different materials even.

The only problem with this argument is that it is easily confounded by something as small as the plexiglass engine window. If this car was intended for track use and not for cruising and showing off, then that window would be used to monitor the plastic engine cover. If it were a track car, whey the GPS? AC? Chrome wheels? carpets? No this car is a cruiser first, track car second.

This car was intended for track use like a GT3 or 360CS etc then it would have been equipped similarly. Now don't get me wrong, it will be a monster on the track and will beat just about everything out there.

But that car is mainly going to be bought by people who couldn't be bothered with actual racing. It's gonna be bought by the almost older man (50's or so) as a last ditch effort to feel young again, before his Cialis looses it's effectiveness. So that they can hide behind the badge of the ZR1 with his plexiglass and ceramic brakes and never have to actually use it to it's potential, and only waft along intimidating others.

I wish I could be the one of the small amount of people that will actually try it on the track.

Oh and with regards to the interior, GM hasn't ever made a good interior, how can you expect else?
