BMW X6 V8 turbo pics

Saw these on another forum.
A guy took some pics of the new V8 TT
Apparently the turbos are supplied by Garett, where the 335 uses Mitsubishi turbos .

They say they are going to come out with a 5 series with that engine but how the hell would they ever fit it under the hood? That thing is like 5 ft tall.

The TT in xDrive 50i trim (X650i is copyrighted by Samsung) only produces 400hp / 450 lb-ft. The V10 in the M5 produces 500hp / 383 lb-ft .

I was going to say that the V10 would be the better engine, but it would be a good race between the two engines in the same car.

turn up the boost on the TT v8 and you will have the same type of scenario as the TTI6 in the 335 and the M3 v8. They will be really close.

I am sure the TTv8 will be MAP based like the TTI6 and thus, at our altitude, getting a 5 series with that motor will be so close to the v10. Now turn up the boost and you will probably start to pull on the M5.

All speculation of course.

i have wondered when a manufacturer was going to reverse the gas flow and put the exhaust into the centre of the vee like the ferrari 126c f1 engine .

all euro cars are going tp have high hoods anyways to provide crush space for pedestrian collision to meet euro crash regs

I heard about this engine a while ago. I sure hope it makes it into the 5 Series...add a chip and away you go.

Interesting layout, but I would be a little worried about under hood temps with this configuration.

There has been rumors for a while about the 555i that will feature this engine. Should be interesting if it happens.

LOL, but BMW was the geniuses that thought having no oil cooler for the non-sport package twin turbo 335i was a great idea.
