Zahir Rana Involved In Rs 28 Cr Multi Level Marketing Scam Gets Bail

02 June, 2005

The city sessions court today released Zahir Jalaluddin Rana, a co-accused in the Rs 28.70-crore Multi Level Marketing (MLM) scam, on conditional bail.

According to prosecution, 73,785 people were allegedly cheated by Future Vision Netlink Pvt Ltd run by Rana and others from a posh locality of Ahmedabad and its branches elsewhere.

Additional Sessions Judge G A Ahuja granted the bail on personal bond and on the condition that Rana would surrender his passport, not tamper with the evidences and not leave Gujarat without prior permission of the court.

The defence counsel pleaded that Rana should be granted bail on merit because he is a co-accused in the case, in which the main accused Prateek Shah and other accused Kiran Pujara and Jignesh Thakkar, have already been granted bail.

Moreover, the counsel contended that Future Vision is an Internet related company and it did not sell any product.
