get one used if you're cheap.

otherwise they're like 2400 new.

I have one, and I bury the needle going down bow trail (bahaha)

I might get some upgrades for it next season, it's fun to boot around on.

do they have to be insured/registered like a car??

method
09-11-2003, 11:34 PM
yes.
registration was like 50 bucks, and insurance for me (18 clean record) was 65 bucks a year.

I spend 3 dollars filling the tank once every week or two.

I have a peugeot moped, 1982, i put an electric supercharger on it, straight pipes, port and polish, and a coil from a 1985 F-150. the thing hauls, it has no govener on it so i don't rev it to high, but it hits 60Kmh in about 3 seconds. I took the damn thing apart o paint it but i'm too lazy to finish it.

you'll be able to find some old ass honda elite or something for like 500 bucks easy. Might need like a throttle cable or a carb though.

I wanted a scooter so bad back when I was in grade 7.. now that I got a motobike i don't need one :D Although one of those pocketbikes would be sweet, maybe next riding season.

no, you're just not allowed to ride pocket bikes on the street legally.

all you need is a class 7 to ride a scoot.

deerfoot came from some local native stuff. Come to think of it, calgary is full of native named things.

Scooters are a blast.

However they can hurt you as bad as a high horsepower bike.
My girlfriend and I rented a couple of 50cc Yamaha (Razz's, I think) and went pout to hellraise on Saltspring Island on the things. We got them going really good and were really having a ball abusing the poor little buggers, when I hit a pile of shit of some kind (Cow Shit, I think. Maybe Deer Shit) Down I went... On My Face...Wearing shorts and an open shirt.

Paiiinnnnn....

Roadrash that covered 30 % of my upper torso and my chin nearly ground off; broken collarbone and three ribs, broken cheek bone (I was wearing a cop-style helmet) a fractured knee, a horribly bruised coccyx (man, that hurt the most) and severe damage to my bank account caused the most punishment to my aging body that I have ever done in a lifetime history of six serious streetbike upsets (Not to mention literally hundreds of dirtbike get-off's) on 2 wheels. (Worse even, than the time I wheelied a Kawasaki H2 500 Triple into a restataunt picture window and landed on someone's french fries - Inside the restaraunt)

Still, I admire the restored Lambrettas and Vespa's and Cushmans that I see around Vancouver.

And I want to buy one - a Honda Ruckus, to tool around Steveston, down by the ocean.
I will keep my eyes peeled for piles of shit.
