GDL demerit Question

Just curious, for the GDL license are you alowed to get 8 demerit points, or if you get 8 points is your license suspended?

if you get 8 points you get a 1 month suspension (for the first suspension)

8 points until it is suspended, IIRC.... Go ahead and rack up 7 and then take it easy.

you may wanna take it easy too... all it takes is like one ticket to get you screwed.

also if you take the advanced defensive driving course... they take three points off

EDIT: also if you exceed 8 demerit points... its YOUR responsability to not drive... they dont like come to your house and take your lisence from you... theyll send you a letter but you need to make sure you arent driving. "i didnt know i had that many points" isnt an excuse...

To yield right-of-way to vehicle or pedestrian


3 Points
Driving on wrong side of road...wrong way on one-way highway
Improper passing...impeding passing vehicle
Stunting
Exceeding speed limit by 16-30 km/hr.
Failure to:
Report accident
To stop as directed by traffic control devices or as otherwise required


2 Points
Improper turns...backing up
Traffic lane violation
Exceeding speed limit by up to 15 km/hr
Failure to:
Obey instructions of traffic control device
To signal

If you license get suspended it will take 30days before you get your license back and you'll have 3 demerit points for two years.
