so, i bought the wireless network adaptor for my 360, and since my xbox is in the basement and my router is on the top floor, ive been getting HORRIBLE connection.
what i was wondering was, is it possible to move the router to the basement, and link it wired without moving the modem?
or would i have to move both the modem and router?
or, any other helpful ideas would be appreciated.

yes you can but you would need to run a long ethernet cable.
why not just move both router and modem?

Maybe because his desktop doesn't have a wireless card or he doesn't want to get a shitty connection on his computer which he most likely uses a lot more often than his Xbox...
