Sounds like whoever owns the site deleted it or something. Public_html is where you'd put your webpages if you had some webspace... Their problem, not yours.

hmm? thanks for reply
its a fairly common webpage, has public movie videos/pre-views for view on it

i've been googling it, but keep getting instructions for many different systems, etc

i thought (at first) that i had to re-direct my http somehow, to get to the home page again, but that didnt work either

so then, best i can do is check back and hope it gets corrected on their end?

pm me the url if you like, otherwise I'm just guessing here... you could try variations of it like www.freexxxmoooviez.com instead of www.freexxxmoooviez.com/fatties/bbw/qwerty/allnightlong/moaviez.html right? :P

The "public_html" folder is where the site owner would upload the files that would be displayed to people on the internet. If those files have been removed, essentially there is no website to look at. Nothing you can do, only the site owner can fix it.

I'm guessing this is on a shared server, and the directory structure is usually:

/username/public_html/(YOUR WEBSITE GOES HERE)

When you login using ftp you'll usually be taken to /username/ folder where theres stuff like mail, tmp, public_ftp, logs, and stuff like that. So if you're website is: http://www.whileyswebpage.com/, if you put an image in public_html like so:

/username/public_html/whiley.jpg

It can be accessible by:

http://www.whileyswebpage.com/whiley.jpg

did some homework, about both public sites and shared systems
looks like you were right, and they had the site down for some sort of re-construction (transfered data & links during)
