This may sound really stupid... but what is exactly the difference?

Well....

Quattro is the drivetrain... as in All wheel drive (quattro=four)

1.8 Turbo is the engine

Okay so the 1.8 turbo model is FWD and the 1.8 turbo quattro is just AWD?

no 2.8 w/cvt only the 3.0L was available with the CVT.

You could also get the 3.0L coupe convertible in FWD in canada.

Dunno why anybody would buy a FWD Audi though... the entire point of an Audi is the quattro system.

I am thinking of selling my mazda 3, and getting one... the FWD isnt a good idea?

Not for an Audi... if you're going to get one, get a quattro. I don't know how much your Mazda 3 is worth, but try to find yourself a used, but not abused, S4 :thumbsup:

what are the major differences between the A4 and S4 though? and price range haha... and it will be used

B5 S4 was 2.7L TT V6
B6 S4 was 4.2L V8
Along with the engine, much nicer interiors, revised exteriors and cool wheels.

2000-2002 $17-22 grand S4
2003-2005 $23-30+ grand S4


2.7tt, $750 tune will get you 310hp, 365ft-lbs. (enough to chirp all 4 tires when you floor it :D )
