Hey guys/girls, im looking into getting a new exhaust system in my 1990 honda crx sir, i've already done my research on pricing/shipping/performance but still can't make up my mind. Based on your experience what do you think is the best system to put in my car? btw i don't want any kind of fart can system in my car that you can hear from a mile away.

Thanks,

buddy club will perform the best out of and catback out there due to the fact its straight piping and reduced amoutn of piping. only problem is its probaly the loudest exhaust ever. Skunk 2 makes a nice system wich has showed dyno gains but i think it sounds sort of ricy. In my opion invidias system sounds the best. Blox makes a nice one too(simliar desgin to Skunk2) but never heard any sound clips.

Lots of ppl like RSR system or tanabe But compared to the ones above in terms of piping I would think it wouldn't yeild as much hp

Go Custom.
best way to do it imo.

Get one custom done.. Generally the cheapest and best way to go..
otherwise, my picks from best to worst for quiet, yet still performance increases
1: HKS Sport
2: R*SR
3: Apexi WS

all great systems and quiet until heavy on the throttle.

custom is great and all if u can get mandrel bends and some one that knows what there doing. Where a pre made one has been R&D and dyno proven to increase hp. If your just going for sound and don't care about performance then custom is fine.

Exhaust has very little effect on power if behind a good header.
Going too small would certainly hurt, but that is pretty easy not to do.
Exhaust can't give you more power than the header can, just move the power band around or restrict it.
The benefit of off-the-shelf exhaust is a cost one. Also, if you drive your car upside down alot, they are usually polished for bling...;)

RSR Exmag

or

Custom piping to an ITR muffler.

Go for the custom from header back, as for headers, these guys would know best. Get a muffler with a removable silencer for street/strip applications. If your doing the exaust, what do you have for an intake? These two work in tandem for best results/flow.

I'd have to go with the custom guys. You can get one cheap. I'm a muscle car guy, and I've talked shops into 2.5" duals all the way back for 500 bucks or so...
Way cheaper, and better IMO.

2.5" custom if running a B16A.
Get it straight as possible.

2.5" seems big for a 1.6L

2.5" is perfect for these motors.

Thanks

If you are in the 4-500 range, go see Eric at Carline muffler in the SE just off of 9 ave by contemporary office interiors.
If you would like a nice system out of mandrel bends, and good quality, try Jason Lange @ Epic Welding. You could also pm me if you don't want to go the muffler shop route.
