About two weeks ago i totaled my car because i hit a deer so i had been looking around for a new car since then. i had spotted a very clean 93' civic on my way home from work one day and thought i had might as well give the owner a call about it.

Turns out it was owned by a guy in his mid 40's and he had done a ton of work to it. he dropped in a new B16 with a integra GSR tranny, AEM cold air, full stainless steel exhaust including DC headers(with a silencer on the muffler as well haha), adjustable coilovers, Spoon ECU, over sized radiator, and quite a bit more.

He did all the engine work himself which totaled $6k and a $2k paint job. Plus he is the original owner. there is 127 000 km on the body and 36 000 on the B16. So i ran a carfax report and not a single accident.

Thing is though he wants 8000 for it. which is a little steep for a car that old in my opinion. so would this be a good purchase?

oh and the reason hes selling is because he wants a corvette.

$8000 for a 93? I'd pass. Mods do not add a tons of value to the car, as the re-sale value is 0.10-0.25 cents on the dollar.

^ :werd:, He shouldn't expect to get money out of the mods.

if an 80 year old woman put on a mini skirt and high heels, would you do her?.... no, well i hope not at least...

8000 for a 93 is too much even with all those mods id say 5 maybe 6gs tops.

i got my 2000 civic type R with 90k for under 10gs two years ago. which i think is a better buy. i think offering him 5000 would be more than fair for a 15 year old car.

just my opinion..

I'd offer him $4K tops.

to the OP,

its not just the fact that its an old car, you said yourself he did all the work. theres no way that engine and tranny, etc. is worth $6000 if he put it in. you can pay to have it installed for less than that......

sorry i meant to say enginework. the $6000 includes all the goodies. but i think i will offer him 5 grand for it straight up.

imo, 8,000 for a '93 Civic is nutty. No matter what it has on it.

Offer him $3,500
