I just picked up another vehicle. A 2001 Ford Mustang GT. I know i'm going to get bashed at least a little for this but, if you don't put your seatbelt on, it beeps like crazy!!! Is there anyway to have that feature turned off? Other than buckling up?

Do our public health care a favor and put the buckle on.

Or disconnect/bypass the sensor. Or unplug the dinger.

How do you disconnect? Or is that something I have to go to the dealership for? Same with the dinger

why wouldn't you want to wear your seatbelt man?

Just wear your belt. That's the point.

i dont wear mine alot on short trips to the store, or when i have to get out, my dinger thing doesn't work lucky me, plug your seatbelt in then sit on it, leave it done up

^That's pretty much it. I live a 2 minute car ride from my office. So it's not like i'm going far or going down busy roads. It's 30km for the first minute and 50km the rest of the way. I just hate the dinging. It's crazy. But I don't know where the switch is to disconnect.

And to the guy that asked why I don't wamt to wear my seatbelt.....it's because i'm a chick and i have big tits :)

With my other vehicles it isn't an issue, but for some reason the belt in this new car is tighter than the other ones.

You don't want to wear your seatbelt? Hell, I wear mine even when I move my car from the garage to the front. It's a safety thing, think about it.

Even though, your work is what - 2 mins away. Alot can happen in two minutes. Just wear it, and be safe.

Wear the belt man, but if you dont want it to beep try and disconnect the wire under your seat.

Just wear the belt. It's really not much of a hassle

Wire under the seat. Awesome! Thanks so much! I will see if one of my staff knows which wire tomorrow. Thanks again!!

I have never heard of anyone going to such great lengths to avoid a 5 sec safety function. IT TAKES 5 SECONDS TO BUCKLE THE THING.

I am going to take a shot in the dark.......... do you smoke?

wow... im sorry but my only response is you are an idiot.

this wont effect me at all... because ultimately you would be tossing your own life away... but seatbelts are there for a reason.

Normally I wouldn't care if you wore your seatbelt or not, but since my tax dollars would be going to your extended hospital stay, PUT THE DAMN THING ON!!!!

there is a way do a search on the mustang forums, it involves keying the car to certain positions etc... Doesnt involve cutting or ripping out any sensors.

It's in your owners manual. I did it in my car and it worked first time. It had somthing to do with having the ignition on and latching and un-latching the seat belt so many times in a short period of time. Just look it up.

You don't wear your seat belt because you have big tits??
Are you blond as well?

The way people drive in this city...you can always get into an accident and get shot through your windshield like a fat kid after a smartie!
Then you don't have to worry about it beeping at all!

Preparation
Apply the parking brake before deactivating/activating the belt minder.

Place the gear selector lever in PARK or NEUTRAL (manual transaxle).

Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

Close all the vehicle doors.

Unbuckle the driver safety belt.

Place the parking lamps/headlamps switch in the OFF position.

Deactivating/Activating

Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)

Wait until the safety belt warning lamp turns off (approximately 1 to 2 minutes).

3. NOTE: Steps 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator turns off.
For seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt in the unbuckled state. After this step, the air bar warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.

Within 10 seconds after the air bar warning indicator turns off, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.

This disables the safety belt minder feature for that seating position, if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the air bar warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
This enables the safety belt minder feature for that seating position, if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the air bag warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds followed by another flash sequence of 4 times per second for 3 seconds.

Hey...not everyone took physics back in high school. Really should be a required.

She wants to risk her life to avoid a 5 second seatbelt pull over. What can we do? If she has not noticed the "buckle up" warning signs randomly placed thru-out her whole life... she is doomed.

Oh that would be even more epic than all the slink-busting combined!

But on topic, I've disabled that damn warning buzzer on every vehicle I could. It's annoying, and has nothing to do with not wearing your seatbelt FFS. There's plenty of times when I'm fiddling with things in the car and the ignition is on and I just don't want to hear the god damn thing chirping at me.

2 seconds I don't have to listen to that noise are a good 2 seconds.
