Hey Guys,
Where are the best places to park for the Calgary Stampede. Perferably, free parking. I've been told that parking near the cemetery is a pretty good area. Thanks.

take the train, no way you're getting close to downtown for free parking.

park on 17th ave along the streets there. as long as it says there is a maximum 2 hour parking, you should be fine. I've done it many times in the past and it works for me so I don't see why it shouldn't work for you.

Also take note that most parking meter says that parking is free after 6pm mon-sat and I believe it's free on sundays. I haven't parked at a meter for a long time downtown so I dunno if this has changed but it's not a bad idea to check them out if you were going to stampede after 6pm.

Its tricky around the cemetery, and if you park in the wrong place they love to ticket people.

c-train stations, much better than trying to park anywhere near the grounds.

You can park in and along the side streets by 17th, Ctrain stations, or by the cemetary if you're lucky.

parking on 17th is pretty good if you get there on time, if you choose to hit up the stampede grounds on a weekday do not park on 17th between 330 and 6, your car WILL get towed!

After going to St Marys High School downtown with no student parking, i found just about every spot....
1) try and hit up the elbow casino...underground is a bonus, then take the elevator on the north west side up and just leave the doors.
2) Right in front of St Marys, high school (18th ave) is some 2 hour parking
3) Right behind St Marys Cathedral are alot of 2 hour parking spots (just north of St Marys High School)
4) Pretend you remember the Janitor who works the gates for St Marys Teacher parking during stampede and he will let you in free..... "OOO wow, Mr. Romanch.... do you remember me? I went to st marys in 19_ _. You sure have kepts this place looking good. Any chance you know where some free parking is around hear?" haha

brown_guy already found a free parking spot and is staying there until the stampede starts. Either that or his plan will be to haggle.

I used to have an onsite parking pass, that was wicked..

Also I just caught a commercial last night, it said the 4th-13th? Isn't it usually a solid couple weeks?

The Telus building thing just to the southeast of Stampede park always opens their parking lot up. But, they charge you I think its in the 10-20 dollar range, but all the money goes to Charity. Better then giving it to the stampede board.

Same, my parents have an onsite parking pass, kicks ass.

I never use it thought cause I tend to drink my face off at the Stampede, and I live in kesington which is a 3 second walk to the LRT.
