Well what can I say I have entered the Dark Side.... I was going to get a Nismo 350z but when I saw this I couldn't say no. Some say they are an aquired taste but I love them especially the S54.
Things that have been done to my new S54
AC schnitzer Wheels
Eisenmann Exhaust
Dinan Stage 2 Flash
Dinan Suspension
Things on Order
Dinan Sway bars
Dinan Throttle bodies
Dinan Headers
Dinan Cold Air Intake

Yeah I bought this from Kulu...He originally wanted 42,000 but I got him way down took a week but it was well worth it
He made me promise that I wouldn't tell anyone how much I paid or everyone coming in will want a discount.
So all I can say is I didn't pay 42,000
As for being rare I have been looking for one for years. You can find the 99-00 but never a 2002 S54 with only 20,000kms on it.

Awesome! I have been eyeing it for months, but didn't pull the trigger because neither my mistress nor my wife wants to learn how to drive a manual.

That car was on consignment at kulu's I believe, so it would've been up to the owner how low he wanted to go. I know it's been sitting there for quite some time.

BMW Gallery is wrong. There's quite a few S54 shoes in town. Hell, there's 2 on beyond now. One of our moderators has one too.

:drama: whoa go offline for a couple hours and i get bashed...
i love BMW's i was just joining in on the bashing... and yes 3 series are probably almost as common as corollas.
and to whoever suggested a vespa... it would be almost perfect but i dont think it would be quick enough to go on deerfoot and keep up with traffic... also probably wouldnt be the greatest in the winter.
also i would appreciate it if personal insults could be avoided... this is all in good fun.
anyway... beautiful car to the OP. i love the BMW roadsters and shoes.
kkthx

You were originally refering to the 3series as an extremely common vehicle, I was simply pointing out that you yourself drive a very common car, so you shouldn't talk.
Not to mention that a 3 series can be several different cars, just sharing a chassis and similar body to all the other 3 series. A prelude only really comes in one form. Not a 318i,320i,323i,325i/ci/xi,328i/ci/xi,330i/ci/xi,335i
That's why they're common, because there are 14+ different models of 3 series, and what? 4 different models of lude?
and that's why your being flamed...cause you don't think first.

Very, very nice. The only BMW I'd own. I almost pulled the trigger on an S54 from the States last year, but just couldn't make it work. That's a beautiful car. Congrats.
As for the S54 M Coupe's rarerity, I think they only brought like 400 of them to North America.

theres 2 models of lude (sold in North America (SH and Base (SH replaced by SE in 2001) and 58,118 (pretty close to current s2000 sales)(http://www.autointell.com/asian_companies/honda_motor/honda_us_sales/honda-us-sales-99-00.htm) were made in the last generation (1997-2001) (they didnt sell because they were over-priced when new). so relative to a LOT of other cars on the road they are fairly rare ... just not in calgary for some reason.
to put things into perspective... in 2005 BMW sold 343,342 BMW 3-series cars world wide (http://www.bmwgroup.com/e/nav/index.html?http://www.bmwgroup.com/e/0_0_www_bmwgroup_com/investor_relations/finanzberichte/geschaeftsberichte/2005/zahlen/marke_bmw.shtml) its sales in one year are over 5 times the TOTAL world wide 4 year production of the 5th gen lude.
i did think through my post i think i just struck a couple nerves. theres nothing wrong with poking fun at what people drive but personal insults are un-called for.
regardless... this argument is going nowhere but into a big wall... so :closed: and PLEASE let it die.
