Item Description


For the automotive enthusiast who want all the power and torque he can get, aFe designed the top-of-the-line Magnum FORCE Stage 2 cold air intake system. Whether it is an spark-ignition gas or a compression-ignition diesel, the more air the engine receives, the more power it generates. The Magnum FORCE Stage 2 systems provide all the air you need.

Compared to aFe's other systems, the Magnum FORCE Stage 2 intake system replaces the entire stock air induction system to the throttle body or turbo housing. Remembering our motto “Stock Sucks”, they eliminate the stock air box, the stock air filter and the stock intake tract. The only thing retained within the system is the stock electronics. aFe makes sure that their Stage 2 system (like all S1 intake systems) work with the stock electronics.

HFM Sensor Pad
More and more vehicles are equipped with increasingly sensitive sensor within the HFM that is connected to the vehicle engine computer (DME), the brains of the vehicle. The calibration of the HFM and its position on the on the factory intake tube is designed to measure velocity and mass of the air flowing through the factory tube. If the velocity of the air moving over the HFM is outside of the parameters programmed into the ECU, whether too fast or too slow; it will cause a lean stumble, engine error code and poor throttle response. We shape our tubes and position the MAF sensor to increase flow to the throttle body or turbo inlet while managing the velocity past the HFM to keep its signal range within factory limits.

In designing out the stock air box, the goal is to always try to design in the largest air box possible. When replacing the stock intake tube as featured in the Stage 2 systems, you have more flexibility since you can change the tube configuration. However adapting to the stock intake tube forces some limitation on the design. Even with adapting to the constraints of the stock intake tube, aFe is careful to use that stock mounting points. There is no need to cut or drill anything when installing.

As you can see, there lot of effort to designing each air box to fit each vehicle. It takes us a little more time and effort but we do it to make the job of installing our systems easier.

Bigger Is Better
Since aFe chooses to make its own filters instead of buying off-the-shelf sizes , filters can be designed to suit each application. Depending on the design of our air box, complete control is retained to make the filter taller or fatter or oval as deemed necessary. By designing the largest filter for the largest air box, you can insure that the vehicle is getting the maximum amount of air.



aFe's Stage 2 intake system uses our radial universal clamp-on filters. We design in an inverted top on some of the filters on the Stage 1 systems to increase filtration surface area and airflow. One of the special characteristics of aFe's filters is the full or modified velocity stack that is built into our universal cone filters. This velocity stack allows the air to curve around the edge of the filter and enter the intake tract without loss of velocity. We have conducted tests where there is more airflow with a full-velocity stack filter than with a straight tube and no filter.

It has been on my car for about 4 months, no more than 2k miles on it. Sounds good and looks great on the car.

You can look around on sites, this item sells anywhere from $369-$500+

Looking to get $250 out of it. Decided to go back to the airbox with a steamline drop in filter.
