View Full Version : My Acura ITR

Came across this car on kijiji and could not pass it up. Always liked Type Rs. Until now I could not find a stock one. (CW was my 1st choice, there were none stock I could find)

This car was a 1 owner local car, 89,000kms. A/C and OEM fogs are the only options. It's going to stay stock.

This car is an absolute blast to drive. It had All seasons on, I put on the new Dunlop Direzza star specs on in OEM Size. The difference is night and day. The R is so different than the GTI. Now I've got a best sport compact from this and the decade past ;)

A stock ITR is almost impossible to find. I've been looking for one for years...

Nice tires BTW. I was looking for them a while back and every place was sold out in the sizes I was looking for.

Sick ride, but :werd: Integra's are pretty much easy to steal like civics, and with a clean one like that you should invest in a 2-way and a club.

Thanks guys.
I have test driven a few lightly modded ones over the last year but the stock one felt the best.

Not sure about taking it to the track. If I do I want to try some auto-x or lapping. And yeah I only take this out on the weekends pretty much and don't leave it parked anywhere outside haha.

Speaking of the stickers, I just noticed that you have the wrong stickers on the side. Not a big deal but I just thought you would like to know in case you want to change them.

I know you said you plan on keeping it stock, and if I were you I would too, with the exception of one thing. I think PY TypeR's look sick with yellow recaros.

Who me? I was kidding btw about him taking the stickers off btw.

Aleks
07-07-2008, 09:31 PM
Yes it was pointed out to me that the sticker on the left side is for a black/white ITR. The other side is the correct sticker. Looking at the documentation it shows the original owner ordered a single R sticker a few years ago, guess they gave him a wrong one :nut:

This is the best handling FWD car I have driven by a long shot. The tires grip like crazy. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of getting some summer rubber. I have yet to push the car hard enough to get understeer

I have to disagree with you there. I find the S2K much more fun to drive. It accelerates, brakes, and corners better. But the ITR feels more predictable and easier to control.

I haven't driven the new civic si yet though, so I can't comment on that.

I haven't driven the new civic si yet though, so I can't comment on that. don't confuse "fun to drive" with "better performance".

there's no doubt that the s2k accelerates faster, brakes harder, and corners better but it's too harsh to drive on a daily basis. i'm talking about the the ap1 of course and i prefer the ap2 for daily driving as it is a bit softer and easier to drive.

the ITR and Si might not be as fast but they are just as much fun to drive, if not more so... especially for a daily driver.

this is my honest opinion and i've had countless arguments with many s2k/honda fanboys who think i'm crazy...

i guess having owned a retardedly fast car has made me realize that contrary to rage2's belief that the fastest car is not always the funnest car. :D

I agree with you that having the AP1 as a daily driver is a chore. There are many days I'd rather drive my Integra (especially in traffic). I can see how the Si and ITR would be more enjoyable to drive because they're more comfortable and daily driver friendly. But for fun factor, the S2 wins hands down.

All I have for input is that IMO the ITR was the best FWD Honda ever made and maybe the best of any FWD vehicles made for it's purpose. Please leave it 100% stock the way it was meant to be as the car was maxed out from the factory but you probably knew that already seeing how you searched for a bone stock one.;)
