One for sale by my house for really cheap been for sale for the longest time ever so I can probably get it well under his price. No rust and as far as I know they are supercharged and it looks like a nice comfy interior.

Anyone ever drive any of these. I'm going to need a car to get me to school for the winter this would work for me if it's a decent car.

I looked it up on google and says a clutch engages the supercharger only when needed. Does this system fail very easily? And seriously it is a 6 cylinder so how bad can it be on gas? I mean knowing me if the charger works properly I'm sure it'll be used often haha. But yeah I'm thinking getting this as a winter beater for the next 3 or 4 years.

I think I'm going to go talk to the owner in the next week here and see if I can put a deposit on it for the one month until I get my student loan. I specifically got more so I could get a beater to get to school.

meh it won't be the end of the world. What i'll be getting next year will be premium as well so it's ok. Might as well get used to it. And what's the difference really what does premium run now. Reg is 133, what is premium??

Sounds like it would be ok to drive, but the way I see it, my beater would be cost as little as possible to run. It sounds like fuel costs are the big drawback - but if you can absorb it, go for it. Get a good set of winters and you should be good.

10-12 cents more depending on the station.

Plus the gas mileage sucks ball on these cars.

The 3.8L without the supercharger in my Grand Prix gets around 8.9L/100KM. Which is alright.

But my dad had a Regal with the supercharged motor (Same motor as the SSEI) and he got anywhere from 12-14L/100KM.

Plus if Regular is supposed to hit 1.50/L this summer I'll be glad that only my bike uses premium at probably 1.65/L

The tank size on my Grand prix is probably the same size as that car too.

60L x 1.35/L = $81
60L x 1.45/L = $87

Doesn't seem like much but it does add up after a little while.

4 fills per month = $24

12 months = $288

Not worth the extra 40HP in a big boat like a bonneville. Especially as a beater car.

won't be used to go very far often. It'll be to get me to the station which is a 10 min drive at most, then random drives around Calgary. I don't ever really go out of the SE unless it's to go out and eat or for school. work is by the ctrain station as well so I would drive it to work as well which is all. I can easily justify the extra 7 to 10 cents a liter more.

Yeah I wish my work was only a 5-10 minute drive. I live in Cranston and have to travel up around Whitehorn station everyday.:thumbsdow

Although we are in the process of looking for a new building in the foothills area.

I live in Chap and work at Moxies in Shawnessy and only have to get to Bridlewood station to go to school. In the civic back in the day I used to be able to make a tank last me well over 2 weeks. Sometimes almost a month. Granted I didn't drive it every day but still. With my Grand Caravan I used to be a tank for a week and a half. Which is quite a bit bigger than a Bonneville hehe.
