I'm guessing 1.7's for 60ft time?

Yup it's me Mike:D

The car is auto now so it's much easier on axles and trannies. 60' on the 11 second pass was 1.7:thumbsup:

We have to do some serious fuel system upgrades as we didn't have any clean runs........ popping and missing due to insufficient fuel supply. This was the first time out with the car aswell.:poosie:

The auto had almost no cost what so ever. I gave him the auto that my 90 Shelby originally had, a friend in Ontario gave him parts to upgrade the internals and the converter was a couple hundred to upgrade.

Hey man all i'm sayin is any fool can take a $900 dollar car, stick a beefy engine in there, with a lil turbo and hit that number. Try finding a car with some looks or something with a lil bit more respect and gettin that same 1/4 mile time. So you can lick the sweat off my balls. :poosie:

The car is out...it's just a daily driver this year.

I'd rather stomp all over cars and bikes on the street this year, than spend my remaining money to get it ready for the track.
You also can't beat driving the shit out of your car, then parking it without opening the hood and looking for potential problems. Finally a true daily driver...

Go away, keep your "critisicm" to yourself. If everyone liked the same car, there would only be one model car out there. Stop being a retard.

And if "anyone" can slap parts together onto a 4 cyl and go 11's, there would be more of them out there.... but for now, there is only one in a city of a million people. Put your criticism to good use, and see if you can get a T3 turbo lude into the 11's....that would impress me ;) I got $2000 says you cant do it slow poke.

We have a fuel cell to build and mount aswell as upgrading the fuel pump to an Aeromotive 1000hp pump -10 lines and dual entry center exit rail. The pump we had went South so we are fixing it properly... We'll hit the dyno again for more boost and tuning aswell.

Were planning for the Edmonton shootout on the 21st? 22nd?

We should get a bunch of Calgary guys to go up and put on a good show up there.

Here s call out from a dude in Edmonton.

"This is an official challenge to every "Tuner" shop in this city (Edmonton). We don't care if the majority of your sales are airfreshener's and blue light bulbs.

I know for a fact that every tuner shop either lurks on this board or is actually registered on this board. It's time to bring out your "Shop" car or your "Sponsored" car. We want to show the people of Edmonton and surrounding area what every shop is really made of."

http://www.780tuners.com/programs/forum/index.php?showtopic=8927&st=45

I think we should round up some Imports/FWD and go up there aswell as the next Calgary Mazda import Meet. If we get enough guys going to these events the track will actually continue to host them. I spoke with the guy hosting the Mazda Meets in Calgary and he mentioned if we get the car count up they will make a heads up class for those interested as opposed to Bracket Racing. He also mentioned if not enough cars show up they may axe it. Friday nights are fun but you can get traction on the weekend, prize money, and it's more of an event like the States have. I also mentioned more advertising for the upcoming Mazda Meet as I know that is a major complaint, as I personally didn't know it existed until last weekend.

My 2 cents, but feel free to post if you agree.

You guys have fuel pump problems??

I got a Paxton pump that derek wants $150 for.....dunno much about it, collecting dust.

We flow tested the aeromotive, and at 12:1 af ratio and 50psi, it was only good to ~600hp.

If he is gonna do a lot of street driving, I would reccomend two Walboro's in parralel ("y"d together) with the second coming on under boost or on a switch. A big Aeromotive will circulate and heat the fuel way to much for the street without the $300 controller.....ran into that on a mustnag from edmonton....the friggin fuel tank was actually HOT to the touch after a some street cruising...., and the pump died after a trip to edmonton.

Leon called for a fuel filter today..... 2 GM style truck filters will handle high pressure, and flow ~600hp worth of fuel (they are like $13 each from NAPA), and probably filter better then the "fancy" stuff.

90_Shelby
09-03-2003, 07:05 PM
I'm borrowing the big Aeromotive pump off of the engine dyno for now and we can look into options over the winter for pump/filter setups. We would prefer a filter that will accept -AN fittings for ease of plumbing. The cell will be mounted up front so an inline style pump would be preferred otherwise I will have to fab something up. The Aeromotive will be put to the Edmonton test for the 21st and hopefully we don't have problems as you mentioned, I suppose we will bring a back up pump now. The filter I found is an All-Star unit, 8" long, -10, stainless filter, my cost $65. Should do the trick.

Suggestions are appreciated as we are making something work until the end of the season. I already have a 5 gallon aluminum cell tacked up for fitment and It should be ready for trial by the weekend. Over the winter we are doing major front-end reconstruction for a bigger cel mounted far forward. The I/C, rad, and battery will all be moved ahead aswell........ We have to get some weight on those tires for the planned BIG turbo:eek: :D

Toma
09-03-2003, 08:54 PM
As a second fuel filter option..... if you run the filter before the pump, you can use the big canister style low pressure ones. Make sure whatever filter you use does not have a inlet screen....Alberta gas is WAY to dirty (crack open a k&N fuel filter to see what i am talking about.... JUNK)

Aeromotive is tricky....if you call their techline they will tell you you must use the controller on the street with their pumps.... I have a 255intank walboro with e 255 pusher walboro in my turbo mustang. Fuel checked to right about 700hp, no problems real world to 540 at the wheels....on "a real" dyno ;) ;)

I didn't think about that, I suppose you could use a low pressure filter before the pump:nut: Leons pump that went south was a Walboro 255 in tank. After the 20th dyno run we suspected problems but initially we thought we were low on fuel. We verified yesterday (draining the tank) it's fucked.

who are you listening too? I have heard lots of walbro horror stories. If you run lots of FP you should think twice about using one.

bosch fuel pumps are a better choice for high FP.

I have a 255intank walboro with e 255 pusher walboro in my turbo mustang. Fuel checked to right about 700hp, no problems real world to 540 at the wheels....on "a real" dyno ;) ;)

As for the expensive aeromotive controller....Barry grant makes a cheaper version that is only 189.00....it works the same but you have to manually turn it on (where the aeromotive is automatic)
