Current density altitude is 4122ft.
Should be a good night for times if they prep the track at all.
Don't think I'm coming. Hopefully it's not busy for those who go.

I was going to come out tonight, but just not ambitious enough to get the car ready.
DA is now 4318, will likely hit static DA(3400ft) by night's end.
Likely one of the better nights of the year...:(
With the current set-up, my car should be slightly faster, maybe a 13.3-13.4 on a good night like tonight.

Current DA is 3890ft. That's best of the year by a good margin.
Easily a night for personal bests, can't wait to hear about the action.

Care to elaborate?
The DA at 11pm was 3700ft, almost static.
What time did it shut down?

Fuckin awsome, my first time ever running on the track and I hit a 14.2 @ 100mph. So happy, but now my tires are bald.

Next friday I'll be there with a smaller pulley, and "new" tires.

I took the GTI out. Pretty happy with how it runs.

Best time 14.402
Best trap 97 MPH
Best 60ft 2.305

Cutting 2.3xx 60 foots all night. 18" wheels are not helping.

Poop, im quick off the line, but im not trapping high because my car isnt THAT powerful. I got 99 mph a few times, but then one time i ran 14.1 and got 102 mph, so i got a sticker...yay.

Now...lets see how i do with the disco, but the problem is im running it on stock injectors so i cant really make a whole lot more power. I need 550cc, fuel pump, and z32 maf, then i can make more.

Here was my run for the night. Found out the my launch limiter is still there and was launching at 5500rpm. couldn't launch any higher and with the new 245's it was bogging off the line pretty good. But either than that somewhat improved my time from the previous 15.6@90mph.

Car # 955

I think i need to either run a smaller diameter slick or i was also thinking about getting the Civic Type R final drive. The stock final drive in the car now is a 4.7 and the Civic Type R is a 5.03. But i guess we'll see what happens.

If you are hooking too much, you have to slip it out.
Your mph was not as much better as it should have been.
The night was good for 1mph at least over the last one.
The bogging was likely killing it.
If you slip it out, you should get a 2.2 60ft easy. That would get you into the 14's likely.
It's not easy though, the k20 is picky, and it likes the revs.
The car is only 100lbs more than an rsx stock, and a better final drive easily makes up for it. It must have been sticky though, my car never hooked hard enough to bog on street tires when I had stock ecu.
Put the stock tires back on, maybe the rims are heavier than the stockies? For sure the tires are.

hhhhmmmm i'll have to try that next time. i wonder if there is a way the i can rig the clutch switch to another switch that will trick in to thinking it's not engaged. but i'll try slipping the clutch next week.

lol, i need somebody to tape my next run. couple of my co-workers said they couldn't really hear my shifting. i was banging through the gears HARD, i thought i was gonna break my shifter or shift cables LOL. i've never done power shifting but with shifter cables seems to be easier than shift linkages (da, dc, eg, ek)

i better run a 14 soon or else i'm gonna resort to some sort of forced induction.

Sorath is bone stock and ran 15.2 I believe.
If you want it recorded, let me know I just got a new HD cam I havent really used.
Just playing on the street I find the harder I shift the more it bogs which is fuckin strange...

Hmm 15.2 for an 8th gen stock eh.

We should do an August 1st 8th gen day. It could be good.

I'll let the cat out, I just got an 8th gen FG2, dyno'd it bone stock and got 180Whp and 134Wtq. I think I might be able to hit a 14.99 with the spare out and low fuel.

In McMurray (500ft above sea level) the car is squirmy when hitting vtec in first gear and pulls second and third pretty hard. I had a stock Mustang GT with the 302, and I think this civic might pull harder.

Sorath, Pm'd.

i kept running 16s that day until later that night i started to find out launch and shiftpoints. i ran a 15.4 a few times, then i went home and took out my spare tire and i got a 15.2 once. i got the slip somewhere in my car

i think the car can break 14s if it had a slimmer driver in it :P

No stock RSX/Si/CSX-S has ever run anywhere near 14s at Race City from what I recall over the years. IIRC miketypes came close running low 15s with intake and exhaust a few years back.
Revhard might remember better than I do though.

Sorath

there was a blue rsx s 05 style that did a 15.0 bone stock. awhile ago

Revhard
07-15-2008, 04:32 PM
15.7 is a good number for a stock rsx, 02-04.
The '05's had a higher numerical final drive, and better cams.
The new civic has both of those things, less friction in the timing chain system, and a superior intake manifold.I hit 14.1 many times with the same cams as the newwer cars got, and bolt-ons on street tires, with less gearing.
I would think with a decent launch, the new cars could hit low 15's. 14's would have to be a very good night indeed.
My car hit a 15.1 in edmonton with just a DC sports header, and an AEM short ram. Stock tires, exhaust, ecu, etc.
With a few good mods, 14's should be possible on these cars aswell.

i wonder if i can get into the 15's with my supercharged EF? what do you guys think? its a daily so no weight taken off, no stereo in it, low boost, intake, exhaust, headers...i think so??:dunno:

still the same as when she dyno'ed at 119.9whp?

If so I say high 15`s to low 16`s because it`s auto.

How did you guys find the track to be like last weekend? I thought it was going to be a great night with record times, but in my case, it turned out to be crap.

All my 60's averaged out to 2.2 - 2.4, running only a 13.5 @ 106mph. A half second slower than last year :(
