I know the 4age is 10mm 12 point and I think the 3sgte has the same.
A 3/8 drive 12 point seep socket would probably work best.

I would buy a 12 point set though if you are doing a rebuild, The big end bolts and the timing chain tensioner could also be 12 point and if memory serves they could be different sizes yet again.

The 12 point heads denote TTY - torque to yeild bolts. Some say you can use them more than once and others (including me) advise against it.

I can't totall remember the size but I think they were 10mm - 12point. I had to go to a specialty tool shop in the SE to get the deep well's with a thin enough wall.

Anything from Craftsman, etc is too thick.

I'll look tonight and post the brand name. I can't remember the tool supply shop but they were way out in the SE.

After I broke them free, I used an allen key socket to take the head studs out.

If its not 10mm, then its 12mm. I mean 90% of the bolts on the MR2 are 10mm, 12mm or 14mm.

Also read this, not too sure what you're doing but it could help
