I'm looking for a good place for crab, without being overly expensive. Preferably an all you can buffet. Or a proper crab shack. I've heard of booker's crab shack across the street from the cecil. but I'd prefer not to go down there unless it's the only one.

Thanks.

Whats the reason for the aversion from Bookers, its one of my favorite restaurants. Ironically it is a corporate calgary fave!

Yeh, bookers is a good place, good food, bad rep because of the location.

Man up and deal with the location. This is Calgary, not Mogadishu.

Don't go, more crab for me and less people to crowd the place

Has anyone tried Monty's crab shack on Edmonton Trail? Good, bad, not as good as Bookers?

Dalton's at the Greenwood Inn in the NE has AYCE crab.

Monty's was a very nice restaurant with great service, but the menu prices were a little rough. I'm not ballin' enough to eat there on a regular basis. No AYCE yet either, though they say they are working on adding that to the menu.

It's not so much the location that is a problem with booker's My buddy used to be a sous(sp?) chef there, and from some of the stuff he's told me. I dunno if I wanna try it :P

Nah.. it's cool though, if you guys say bookers, then booker's it is. I was just wondering if there was other options, or if bookers was the place to go.

thanks!

Btw. I'm sure they serve all kinds of crab? I prefer the sweet snow crab over the pacific king crab.

I think the sign outside of Bookers said, All you can eat snow crab legs on Sunday and Monday.

Silver_SpecV's mom has an all you can eat crab shack that usually serves a couple sittings a night but if you thought Bookers location was greasy, well uh, yeah.....

It's been a while since i've been there but Treasure of China on Macleod has snow crab on weekends. Just steamed with butter is what they have.

It's a typical chinese buffet so expect typical chinese servers ;p
