I have a 1989 toyota supra with the 7M engine.

The car runs great besides the fact that it sputters when the boost starts to kick in around 3200 RPM.

I am pretty sure this is a boost leak, but I am wondering if it could be anything other then this.
Also what is the best thing to do in order to fix this problem.

Any response is a great help.

thank-you

Start by checking for boost leaks. Seems obvious.

look up a boost leak tester...you could probably find a supra specific on one of the enthusiast sites.

I wouldn't suspect a boost leak if you're saying that the car is sputtering. Sputtering can be a result of a misfire, which I would check your ignition, make sure all the wires are in good working order and no cracks in the spark plug wire boot also check your coil packs for cracks.

Check for codes as well! It's very helpful in the diagnosis of your car, using a short pin wire jump terminals TE1 and E1 and turn the ignition ON. In your black diagnostic box on the LH side by the strut tower.
