So I just brought in my laptop to Futureshop for them to take a look at my HDMI port not sending signal to any HD TV, and also one of the shortcut button doesn't work either even though it is assigned to a specific *.exe file (all other shortcut works).

The girl there told me the maximum would be 48 weeks.
Now has any of you who brought electronics back to Futureshop actually had to wait for 48 weeks? And why such a long wait? For parts? Also, if they can't fix the issue and it is determined to be defective what would they offer me as replacement as it is still under warrenty.

Thanks

I had a BOSE home stereo system that spent almost 2months in repair. When I went to pick it up it was some one elses beat up unit so they gave me a new one after I complained

Make sure to check your seriel # when you drop off and pick up your electronics at futureshop.

If you didn't buy their warranty it is not their responsibility to exchange the laptop for you.

Are you sure she said "48 weeks" and not "4 TO 8 weeks"? If it's 48, thats insane.

I'm sure its 4 to 8 weeks. 48 weeks is almost the whole year!

Ahaha yeah, it's 4-8 weeks not 48 weeks. For laptops they usually send them to the service center in Vancouver and it typically takes 3-4 days to get it there, 1-3 weeks before they look at it, then 3-4 days to get it back. In my experience when the store makes a mistake then can magically get your repairs pushed through the next day so if you're in a super big hurry ask them nicely if there's anything they can do.

Last 3 times my wife's laptop was in it was 2-3 weeks from the day we dropped it off.

4 to 8 weeks... wow... did I ever miss heard that!
I still have the box that came with the laptop, so I will make sure that it is the same serial#.

why not just send it out yourself and go through the manufacturer? i would never ever go through Future dump for warranty. Even if they send it out for you, why bother with a 3rd party?
