Mini van Tranny question?

Wifes' caravan is not shifting properly. Service engine light came on about the same time as shifting acted up.
Kinda holds the gear too long and then clunks in hard.

Any chance a flush would help?
Good places to take it? (in the south east)

Well I had something similar happen to a 91 dodge cargo caravan a few years back. My brother filled it with Dexron ATF instead of the recommended ATF+3, second and third gears shifted real hard with the wrong transmission fluid. A flush with the right fluid fixed everything for me.

Is it in limp mode? (Stuck in second, and won't drive faster than ab. 60 km/hr no matter how high you rev it).

Sounds like the shift soleniods are acting up and or some of the planetary gears and or bearings are starting to go. (Only going by the clunking) but more than likly it is the shift soleniods... Its been a while since i was in a true auto...
