Hey guys, so this BS firmware is pissing me off now.

After I updated my PS3, it is having a lot of trouble reading disks that I have burned with .avi files on it. It just keeps saying "data is corrupt". Usually if I restarted the PS3 or took the disk out and put it back in it would play the files, but today it just keeps saying data is corrupt. Is there a way I can turn my firmware back to whatever it was before. This is horse shit.

There are alot of new features etc in the updates. I don't understand the reluctance..

I use it for Blu ray and streaming...Last update before 2.4 works good for me.

Fair enough. I guess if you're not gaming than its a null issue lol.

^If I could get the hang of those controllers I'd do some gaming. Use to do lots and lots of FPS stuff on a computer.
Playing COD4 on 106" screen is kinda "wow". But thoe controllers drive me crazy. Kb and mouse FTW!!

Prolly your bluray drive is taking a dump and can't pick up the disk data without errors

 after 40 failed attempts at running this certain disk, I put in my Planet Earth DVD, it ran, put this disk back in, and now it works too. Nice...

Yah sounds like the laser is on its way out. My dvd player used to do that. It would read burned dvds perfectly but would not read normal dvds. After some screwing with switching disks eventually it started reading normal disks too....and then it all just died haha

Is it actually a dying laser? This thing is barely 2 months old. I will be fucking pissed if it dies!

So, with my receipt, I have a 1 year warranty, I am assuming I can get this shit fixed if it ends up being the laser. It seems right now that this disk is the only one with issues. All of my other disks including games work fine on the first try...

could be just a bad disk then as well, but don't be surpiced if your drive enentually fails
