Don't have the owners manual. This is one of our company trucks and that light just clicked on. It seems to drive fine, I notice the oil pressure fluctuates from about 3/4 to 1/2 on the gauge when I brake. Checked the oil and it has plenty. Anyone wanna take a stab at it?

It's a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD.

That's would be the Check Engine Light and usually you need the code reader to find out what sensor is making it come one. Take it to the dealer and have them read the code.

check engine light
could mean alot of things, bring it to the dealer or an auto store to get scanned and find out the exact problem that set it off

Check engine light.

9/10 times it's just the oxygen sensor in the exhaust. However, this being a GM product god only knows!

You have a modified GT, on beyond, a grown adult and you don't know what that light is?

Maybe he's never driven a junker at some point in his life like the rest of us and simply never seen a CEL before??

And in all fairness too, not all vehicles use that icon as a CEL.

Sometimes that light comes on when the gas cap isn't put on right.

Probably it, but as said, go check the codes.

I've owned 4 mustangs in my life (1990,1989,2002,2005). No GM products. Never once have I had one of them throw a CEL.

Sooner or later it was bound to happen. Sorry lol. If it was my car I would have already used my flash tuner to check for codes. But since its not..

Turns out it was the MAF sensor. Bought some cleaner and a new air filter. So hopefully that solves it.

-edit-

Truck runs good again.

This is why some vehicles put it in plain english... "SERVICE ENGINE"... how would one get that wrong?

They'll probably add fuel injector cleaner to the oil filler thinking that it will do the trick (seen it happen before).

Most MKIII Supra owners call that light "the birdcage" light.
