Should be a solid competitor to domestic SUV's and I like the styling- good value and respectable fuel economy too  Whatcha guys think?

I prefer the Veracruz...this one looks a little too much the like the GMC Acadia/ Saturn Outlook et al.

The Veracruz is nice too, but its more of a crossover. Personally I like the more chiseled truck-like styling of the Borrego, but the Hyundai is still a solid runner in the crossover segment

I think if I were in the market for a 7 passenger SUV, I would have to at least give it an honest look.

I find it impressive because it can actually tow a decent sized trailer. I have an 06 Expedition and I plan on test driving one of these as much as I hate the idea of owning a Kia.

But even if I really like it I will be waiting 1-2 years to test drive some used ones to see how they are holding up and then consider it. I am looking forward to driving it though.

What's a surprise to most is that the V8 can match the V6 on highway fuel economy. As far as the reliability issue is concerned and purchasing used, the 10yr/100k mile warranty speaks for itself

^ you can have a powertrain warranty but the vehicle could still drive like crap and that would be my concern. Every Kia/Hyundai I have ever been in 'feels' like a pos when it is used. The latest vehicles are definitely promising but I wouldn't want to be one of the first on the bandwagon.

I'm usually skeptical of first year models as well, but all the R&D going into this new Tau V8 for the Borrego proves that Kia is serious about the quality of their cars. It's being used in the Genesis Sedan...poised to compete with BMW, Lexus, et al.

Looks alright but really man its a KIA, they have a long way to go before they are a major competitor

Today's Kia and Hyundai automobiles are no flashback to the '80's. As for becoming a competitor ... check out their new N.A. plant they're building; qa1. and the reviews of their flagship cars lately.

I think the cars we need to avoid are the ones coming from the Philippines! ;) !

Kia probably anticipated that when they made this commercial
